Greetings!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Our newsletter this month focuses on money and relationships. Finances can often stress a relationship, so we’re talking about all of the elephants in the room this month.
The recent Debt Therapy podcast on relationships and money is a quick introduction on why you should care and how to talk about finances. Amir Beg, Associate Attorney at Jen Lee Law, also wrote an excellent blog post this month about couples and finances, titled “Are you having an affair (with your finances)?”
In the news this month, US household debt is at an all-time high and exceeds $14 trillion for the first time ever. This is about $1.5 trillion higher than at the height of the recession in 2008. If you think you are alone with debt, think again. One of our strategy sessions is highlighted. The Premarital Debt Strategy Session helps couples who are thinking about getting married understand their rights and options when it comes to debt and credit before, during, and potentially after marriage.
Finally, our featured video discusses what actually happens at a strategy session with Jen Lee Law.
Thank you for reading and please feel free to forward our newsletter to any friends, colleagues, or family members who may be interested in learning more about debt, credit, and solutions to financial stress.
