Free Workforce Development Programs for Rancho Cordova Residents
Are you interested in revitalizing your career, starting a new career or gaining new job skills? The City of Rancho Cordova is investing $1.5 million into its city workforce, thanks to the Community Enhancement & Investment Fund (funded through Measure R, a ½ cent voter-approved sales tax).
The city’s Workforce Development Program offers free educational and training opportunities to Rancho Cordova residents who are unemployed, underemployed or want to upskill to compete for higher-wage jobs.
The city is currently recruiting for the following programs:
Software Engineering Course by General Assembly
General Assembly offers a Software Engineering Immersive course that is a fully remote program designed to prepare you for a junior-level software engineering role. This is a 12-week course and includes 480 hours of instruction in software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
To enroll in this program, participants must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or a GED, and must complete a preliminary assessment process. Visit the

Rancho Cordova Tech Career Incubator by Udacity
Udacity is offering a four-month program, the Rancho Cordova Tech Career Incubator, to help students acquire job-ready skills in programming or business analytics.
Udacity’s Business Analytics program allows participants to gain foundational data skills that are applicable to any industry, such as collecting and analyzing data, modeling business scenarios, and communicating findings with SQL, Excel, and Tableau. This will help participants take the first step toward obtaining careers in Web and App development, Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, and more!
