It's Summertime, and with a Salad a Day", Eating can be Easy, Fun, and Healthy! I do recommend a salad every day, and it is what I feature in my book, "It's Not a Diet, it's Creative Eating"! And I think that summertime is the best time to make "A Salad a Day" a habit!
Summer is here, bringing record-breaking hot weather, so less formal cooking and less fuss in the kitchen make salads a great choice for a meal, a mini-meal, or the base of a meal. And what a great time for us to make our eating easy, healthy, and light. Summer means more outdoor activities, long weekends, vacations, and barbecues with extra drinking, and though we're having fun, many of us worry about packing on pounds. And putting extra weight on just when we're peeling off clothing has some of us looking for a way to enjoy ourselves without gaining weight.
Summertime salads can be fun, creative, filling, and healthy all at the same time. They can do all this while we keep those pounds off. On a personal note, I credit my "entree" portion salads as one of my most important weight loss tools that has made a huge difference in my weight (along with regular exercise, of course).
The choices for salads are almost endless, and what I like best is that they can fill us up without filling us out. Here are a few reasons to enjoy more salads this summer.
