Generosity Campaign Update

When our children were asked "What does it look like to live and love like Jesus", they suggested things like being kind, caring for others, and helping those in need. One young boy said, "showing integrity." I'm so proud to be a part of St. Paul's where young people learn such amazing ways that they can live and love like Jesus. Together, you are making that happen as we prepare for the next harvest.

Currently, we have received 183 estimates of giving totaling $849,907 towards our 2023 ministry plan. We are only 53 estimates of giving and less than $27,000 shy of where we finished last year's campaign. I'm so excited by this generous and faithful response. If you have not yet turned in your estimate of giving, your estimate can help us make the difference and move past that mark with some amazing ministry plans for 2023. There's still time to fill out and turn it into the office or the offering plate. There are cards available at the church or you can fill it out online

Sunday Worship

10 a.m. in Sanctuary & on Facebook

Jesus, Politics, and Religion: What's Love Got to Do with It?  There are two topics which we don’t discuss to avoid tearing apart families and friends. . . politics and religion. Jesus, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to avoid either. Is it really possible for love to bridge the great divide that we experience in these two areas or do our hurts just run too deep? What might Jesus say following an election? Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

What's Love Got to Do with It?

Tina Turner's Hit Song "What's Love Got to Do with It?" challenges listeners that our actions are caused by our human wiring not reactions to a deep emotion like love. In this week's sermon, we'll explore a section of Jesus' sermon on the Mount from the Gospel of Matthew where Jesus challenges the behaviors of his followers to go beyond routine action and instead use love to transform their relationships with their enemies. Could risking a broken heart help us know the heart of God?
