STARR Restaurant Group Career Exploration & Contest Winners
Thank you to STARR Restaurant Group for hosting a fantastic Career Exploration Day! Participants learned about potential careers in the restaurant industry, made meaningful connections with STARR mentors, and participated in a restaurant design competition judged by Stephen Starr!
Congratulations to the winners of the "STARR Tank" Restaurant Design Competition!

Skylar, age 15, won the competition for her Sizzle Fusion restaurant concept. Skylar designed a quick and casual Philadelphian, Caribbean fusion restaurant inspired by the traditional Haitian dishes and flavorful new recipes she creates with her mother. Skylar will have the opportunity to meet the STARR team and won a dinner for 4 at a STARR restaurant of her choosing!

Honorable mentions and prizes were also awarded to Deyon, Alejandra, and Maddison for their creative restaurant designs!

STARR Restaurants is a group of unique restaurants with a proven commitment to excellence. They are driven by a luminary’s vision and defined by world-class culinary stars, whose distinct tastes offer each guest an experience that is at once spirited and sophisticated.

Program Spotlight: Sisters in STEM Virtual Camp
Current 7th and 8th grade girls are invited to apply for the Siemens Sisters in STEM program!

Girls Inc. is partnering with Siemens Healthineers to offer a virtual camp providing middle school girls with opportunities to learn about STEM careers and connect with women across Siemens Healthineers. Girls will develop foundational skills such as public speaking, overcoming imposter syndrome, time management, and self-advocacy and build hands-on STEM skills! Siemens Healthineers developed this program to help ensure that the MedTech industry and their workforce is as diverse as the patients they serve.

The camp will be held June 21st-25th from 8:30am-12:30pm with an orientation on June 18th. Siemens Sisters in STEM is free of charge to girls and all necessary materials will be provided.
