What Might Need to Change?
Katie Kinnison preaching

Peter was raised to be a good and faithful Jew. There were certain things you just did and didn’t do. You went to synagogue on Saturday. You said your daily prayers. You did not eat forbidden foods. And you did not eat with Gentiles.

None of this changed during his time with Jesus. Well, lots of things changed, but none of  these things.  None of the things he considered essential had really changed.

But then the Holy Spirit came . This incomprehensible force that did as It pleased moved quickly and without any tells. You truly did not know where it would blow next.

Eat with Gentiles, huh?  Seriously?

I wonder who our “Gentiles” are, or what practices or beliefs or ritualized behaviors we hold on to from which the Ground of Being would move us away?  Are we willing to shift how we behave and what we believe? What is the Spirit saying to us now, and what is she revealing? And how will we know if what we think we perceive is “true”?

Just some light questions for a Sunday morning. Come to Gathering and we will explore these things together, all of us within the whirlwind of the Holy One.

Yours on the Journey,
Conversation. Laughter. Wisdom.

Our Amazing Labyrinth!
Bob Tullett and friends have moved at an remarkable clip. As they finish the work of labyrinth building – and then the brick pathway to the labyrinth construction, which will also feature a concrete ramp to make this entrance of the church fully accessible – we are also designing the surrounding garden and landscape. Oh, this will be so beautiful, such a welcoming and holy and loving space. This will be a gift to ourselves and to this neighborhood we are called to be with in Love.

Thank you for the prayers and financial support and work you’ve done to bring this into reality. When we are finished enough (developing the surroundings will be an ongoing project), we will have a wonderful dedication ceremony and spiritual celebration. If you would like to help plan that, please see Katie Kinnison.
