"But Some Doubted"
“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.   When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted ” (Matthew 28:16-17 NIV84).

(Some thoughts that I shared with a few of you last week.)

We’re familiar with this portion of Scripture for what follows this passage—the Great Commission—“Go and make disciples…” But these verses always stun me. What??!! Some doubted? Seriously? Are you kidding me?
Online Worship

At a recent meeting of district staff (via Zoom, of course), we noted the fine work so many Texas District congregations are doing bringing their Sunday worship online in the midst of the pandemic. In most cases, congregations are reaching WAY more people with the Gospel than they had been on a typical Sunday!

We also commented about several items that might help your congregation move from an "A" to an "A+" if you're not doing these things already:

  1. Be sure that a link to your online worship service is REALLY obvious on the front page of your website and Facebook page.
  2. Making a "Give Now" button REALLY obvious on the front page of your website and on your worship landing page helps giving immensely.
  3. From our informal conversations, it appears that members of district congregations have been incredibly generous financially to their congregations, with the vast majority seeing little to no drop off and some even seeing increases. An AUTOMATED GIVING PROCESS very much helps this.

God bless you as you continue to serve in these unprecedented times.
