The show and sale are open free to the general public.

"The mission of this first Thea Arts Festival is to raise awareness throughout the arts, education and business communities of the Mid-South region about the Thea Foundation and its initiatives to encourage creativity among Arkansas students through this celebration of the arts in the Argenta Arts District," says Paul Leopolous, executive

Metal Artists Soften Medium

Thea will host an opening reception for up-and-coming metal artists Carolyn Hendrix and Amanda Wyman during the 3rd Friday Night Argenta Artwalk, April 20, 5:30 - 8:00pm. The artists will be present to answer questions about their exhibition, "Metal Art," during the Artwalk. In addition, Cabot performing artist Celina Bree will provide live music, and refreshments will be served.

Amanda Wyman and Carolyn Hendrix met while attending welding classes at Arkansas State University in Searcy, and quickly realized their common love for both welding and art. The challenge to manipulate a medium as rigid as metal into something with an organic and whimsical form is what fuels their passion.

Sixteen year old Celina Bree won the highest award for songwriting in the 2008 CMA Country Music Festival's Rising Star Youth Competition, and recently released her first EP, "Let's Go With It," produced by Jason Truby, once member of the alternative band P.O.D., and Steve Dean in Nashville. Her musical style is a mix of many genres, including country, pop, and rock. Visit Celina Bree's website at www.celinabree.com.

"Metal Art" will be on display in Thea's Tenenbaum Gallery from April 19 through May 4. The 3rd Friday Night Argenta ArtWalk is free and open to the public. Thea's regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9am
to 12pm, 1pm to 5pm. The Thea Foundation Center for the Arts is located at 401 Main Street, Suite 100, North Little Rock. For more information, contact Elaine at the Thea Foundation at 501-379-9512 or
