WYOMING #96
TROPHY MULE DEER NEAR YELLOWSTONE
| | |
We consider this to be one of our best values for mule deer. A lot of bang for your buck here (pun intended!). This outfitter offers fully guided horseback hunts near Yellowstone Park’s eastern boundary that are a real bargain. You stay at a lodge that sits only a few miles from Yellowstone. The classic western main lodge and a series of rustic cabins are comfortable, meticulously-clean and complete with baths. The nearest big town is historic Cody, Wyoming about an hour from the lodge.
You will hunt migrating mule deer in the late pre-rut. Horses take out much of the pain of accessing the back country to find those big old boys. Like any migration hunt, this one is weather dependent, but Mother Nature is usually obliging, and snow and weather make the deer move to lower elevations. With a little luck and perseverance, hunters are able to intercept some of these magnificent bucks as they get on the move from their summer range. Now no one can guarantee you giant deer, but the chance is there, and normally you can expect 100% opportunity on mature bucks in the 160-inch and up range. You can kill a monster here, but conservative estimates are that you should be able to harvest a mature buck in the 155- to 170-inch class, with a possibility of bigger. Snow helps, and by late September at this altitude a wintery mix is a common. The season starts in mid-October and runs into early November.
Accommodations are cozy, rustic cabins with meals served at the main lodge. Each morning you saddle up before daylight and travel by horseback, all the while glassing and searching. You will find deer feeding or migrating out of the park boundaries. You will also be hunting resident mulies. You will see some gorgeous country and have a true wilderness experience, while enjoying home cooking and a warm bed at night. Chances are good you’ll see elk, and maybe even wolves and/or mountain lions.

ALASKA #312
2025 DISCOUNTED SPOT AND STALK BROWN BEAR
| | |
This dedicated outfitter started guiding when he was 19 years old. By the time he was 26 he had his own operation and was a Master guide at the young age of 33. With 25 years and 300 plus bears under his belt, we dare call him a bear expert! It’s a family run operation where you receive top-quality service. Unlike some of the bigger commercial camps, you’ll become a name rather than a number. His work has been featured in Bear Hunting Magazine, Professional Hunter Magazine, Outdoor Life as well as several TV shows.
SPOT AND STALK BROWN BEARS:
Each day will involve walking less than 2 miles and glassing from vantage points over rivers that offer the best chance at locating bears taking advantage of salmon runs. Hunters should be in decent physical condition and be prepared to carry a small daypack of approximately 25 pounds. Black bears are free as an incidental while hunting brown bears. The client is responsible for having the necessary tags, however. This outfitter does not offer any guided black bear hunts that are not in conjunction with brown bear hunts. Black bears in the area range from 6’-7.5’, a few near 8’ have been sighted. While black bears are FREE to add to any hunt, these are NOT combo hunts. Black bears are considered an incidental take. Once the brown bear has been harvested, the hunt is considered over.
This outfitter has his own plane and does his own flying so there is no dependency on a 3rd party air service. These hunts are all inclusive with the only extra expenses being travel/ accommodations to and from Anchorage, license and tags along with tips.
He also conducts baited brown bear hunts and is off to a great start for 2025. Inquire about 2026 dates and pricing.

ARGENTINA #33
2026 ROAR DATES FOR FREE RANGE STAGS
| | |
The outfitter has his own hunting ground in the Province of La Pampa, which is one of the very best stag areas in Argentina. The outfitter hunts approximately 37,000 acres of century-old scrublands where regal red stags reign, from which they harvest about 35-40 stags per year. Free-range stags roam with wild boars and pumas. In this area, animals wander wild and free in their natural environment. The hunt starts very early in the morning, before dawn. You drive a short distance to the area you will hunt, and then put your ears to the wind. You’ll hear the stags as they roar and bellow. Once dawn breaks, you stalk to within sight of the animal to assess its horns to determine if it is a worthy trophy. Around noon you return to the lodge to enjoy a hearty meal, rest for a short while, and start the ritual once again in the afternoon.
The land is very arid, gentle and rolling with scrub woodland and some high grasses. It reminds us of similar areas in Africa, and the roaring stags can easily sound like a pride of lions bellowing their supremacy to the entire world. Walking is very easy and the stalks great fun. You will hear many stags every day between early March and late April, with the roar peaking from mid-March to mid-April most years. Pick a deep throaty roar and then sneak in to check him out. You get to do this multiple times every single day. Far different from a typical elk hunt where days can pass without hearing a bull or seeing a mature animal. Shots tend to be fairly short; usually 50 to 175 yards.
Stags taken are normally mature 5x5 or 6x6 stags. Do be aware that red stag horns are shorter than elk horns, but heavier beamed and may carry many more points than our elk. Stags depend on multiple points and mass to make up their scores, as beams are seldom more then 40- 44” long, unlike an elk who often reach 50” and more. Most stags in the free range area of this operation will top out at about 320” SCI, with the average around 300”. With this reasonably priced free range stag hunt, if you do not see the stag you want, you can switch over to the Estate (high fence) area where stags can run upwards of 340 to 500 plus. Of course price increases then, but remains relatively reasonable, as you get a partial credit towards those estate stags.

2026 BIG GAME PRICES (subject to change without notice until deposit received; all prices in USD)
RED STAG HUNT: Stay in a five-star lodge and you are accommodated in double suites. Package includes 1x1 guiding, with all meals and lodging. This is a 5-day hunt and you are free to shoot the largest stag you see. Typical free range stags will be mature animals with very good mass and have 6x6 or bigger racks. Just $5,000, and NO TROPHY FEE!
Estate hunts are also available for stags up to 600+” on a 9,000 acre preserve.
Dates: April 3-9, 2026 (up to 4 spots)

BRITISH COLUMBIA #151
AFFORDABLE HIGH SUCCESS MOOSE
| | |
We have worked for many years with this outfitter, almost from his very beginnings. He is a small-volume outfitter that specializes in quality, personalized service and big-time adventure. He takes 13-16 clients per year. He has been hunting, fishing and trapping in northern British Columbia for over 25 years and takes tremendous pride in being able to offer you a high-quality guide service. The outfitter is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and takes a hands-on approach to every aspect of the operation. With the small number of clients the outfitter accommodates each year, chances are good he’ll be there to personally greet you when you arrive for your once-in-a-lifetime hunting adventure.
Quality moose hunts are in high demand and comparable hunts go for $20k and above. For this reason his hunts are sold out years in advance. This would be an opening for 2027 for a couple hunters trying to plan a future trip to fill their hunting schedule.
His moose hunts are done from various camps and in various ways. In his area any bull moose is legal. No antler point restrictions, but most hunters want a good bull of course. Hunts for moose can be tailored to your physical abilities within reason. He hunts using tree stands; and by spot and stalk; and by calling. Just talk to us about your physical abilities, and we will work with you and him to see if his hunts are suitable to you. This outfitter has had years when he’s averaged over 85% on moose, with an amazing average spread of 51-inches. However, we prefer to be conservative and intentionally understate so your expectations remain reasonable. Our clients hunting here have taken bulls in the high 30” range to one over 60”. Incredible for the Canada moose sub-species. The average moose (being conservative) will probably be either side of 44” – a very respectable Canadian moose. We think a patient hunter in good shape, with favorable weather and a bit of luck, should be able to tag a bull in the 45- to 50-inch range. Clients have bagged several monster bulls that have exceeded 55 inches, and one giant that spanned a mammoth 63 inches. Broad, expansive paddles and lots of points mean that an impressive 45-inch bull will score better than a wider 50-incher. His success rate is about 80% on bulls.

WYOMING #235
ZERO POINT ANTELOPE & OTC COW ELK OPTION
| | |
This outfitter runs a family-owned and operated business on some very remote ranchlands in northeast Wyoming. The outfitter hunts his own private ranch and also has leases consisting of about 75 square miles in northeast Wyoming. Nearly 100,000 acres! Drawing tags here for antelope is normally 100% draw, with leftover tags available. There are that many tags and that many antelope!
Putting in over 150 days a year in the field, he and his guides know the ropes and where to find the game on several hundred thousand acres. That’s why he is so successful. You will come away a better and more knowledgeable hunter. He closely manages the harvest on his properties to assure guests the opportunity at a trophy animal.
There are no fences and the hunts are strictly fair chase. Most hunting is by spotting and stalking using spotting scopes and binoculars. The outfitter’s guides try hard to get the hunter the closest, highest percentage shot they can, because the first shot is always your best shot. The guides are good judges of trophy quality and most shots end up being less than 200 yards. The hunter makes the final decision on the shot based on what you are looking for and the guide’s input.
The elk draw has long since passed for Wyoming but in this outfitter’s unit there are over the counter cow tags available. This will not be offered as a stand alone hunt. Once you harvest your antelope you will have the option of buying a cow elk tag and if successful pay the trophy fee.

2025 PRICES (PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE UNTIL DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED)
3 Days Rifle or 4 Days Archery antelope. $3,795

ALASKA #51
DISCOUNTED SITKA DEER, DUCKS AND FOX
| | |
We here at Hunt Nation have worked with this excellent outfitter for about 12 years. He has over 35 years of experience in Alaska. All hunts are strictly fair chase, and being in good physical condition is a NECESSITY for a Kodiak Island hunt, as climbing up and down the many high hills, pushing through willows, up and down tree-choked draws, etc., is a frequent thing.
Remember you start out at sea level, so climbs can be several thousands of feet up and down. While elevations are not extreme, it is physically demanding to push up those 2,000 to 3,000 foot hills from sea level. This is true for both his bear hunts, his goat hunts and for his Sitka blacktail deer hunts!
SITKA BLACKTAILS:
He offers a standalone Sitka blacktail deer hunt as well, with ducks and fox are also possible. He has taken the Alaskan Professional Hunting Associations biggest deer award many years. He also has the #3 world record. We think his deer price is a bargain! You may have seen Larry Csonka of football fame hunting with this outfitter for blacktails on TV. Shots can be quite long, and shooting sticks or a bipod can be a big help with the wind whipping. For a smorgasbord, add in some sea duck hunting.
SEA DUCKS:
More than 10 species are available here, with hunts usually over decoys, although pass and jump shooting are also used. Based out of their modern lodge, this hunt provides lots of action with all the comforts. The duck hunting continues to be nothing short of world class and is included on all fall hunts. There are literally thousands of sea ducks in the bay each fall. This is a collector hunt with harlequins, Barrow's goldeneye, surf, common and white wing scoters along with longtails and blue bills making up most of the shooting. You hunt over decoys and also drift for pass shooting. This is a great hunt all based out of a warm comfortable lodge.
| | |
2x1 6-day lodge hunt. Regular price $6,000 discounted to $5,000. (4 spots)
Dates: November 11-18, 2025- (Great rut dates where deer tend to be at lower elevations)

MEXICO #320
GUARANTEED OPPORTUNITY BIGHORN SHEEP
| | |
Finding good and reliable Mexican outfitters has never been easy, so we spend extra efforts on vetting the ones we work with. We find the chosen ones to be wonderful partners, honest, hard-working and just plain good folks. This outfitter fits that mold. However, he only does about 8 to 10 hunts a year, so booking a year or two in advance may be required. He offers some very large Coues deer, big mule deer and Desert Bighorn Sheep.
This outfitter at present has 3 ranches, and is looking at others as well. He currently hunts over 76,000 acres of uncharted territory. These 3 exclusive ranches have barely been hunted in the past 5 years, making them prime territory for trophy animals, when restraint is used in terms of numbers harvested. We very much like the fact that this outfitter refuses to use more than 50% of the tags he is allocated. He does that to keep trophy quality high. It shows great restraint on his part! It should also be noted that he does have a high fence Desert Bighorn area as well, with sheep averaging 173” to 185”.
In 2024 66% or 2 out of every 3 sheep hunters took rams over 170” with two exceeding the 180” mark. They are continuing to expand their territory gaining access to some exciting new areas with great trophy potential. They are so confident you will get a sheep they guarantee a shot opportunity at a trophy ram at 400 yards or less. If this doesn’t happen they will allow you to continue hunting extra days or bring you back later in the season to try again.
Lodging:
They have several houses that have running hot and cold water, beds, full bathrooms and electricity.
Travel:
Hunters ideally would fly into Tucson and be met by the outfitter for the 4 hour drive to the ranch. Additional options would be Phoenix 4 ½ hours or Hermosillo, Mexico 3 ½ hours.

WYOMING #107
OVER THE COUNTER REDUCED PRICING COW ELK
| | |
The Wyoming elk draw deadline has long passed, however if you are still looking to hunt for elk there is this unique opportunity. Not only are these cow elk tags available over the counter but you have the opportunity to purchase 2.
This hunt will take place on a 60,000 acre ranch close to the town of LaGrange about one hour north of Cheyenne. This is sold as a hotel hunt so you are responsible for lodging and meals.
They conduct bull elk hunts on this ranch and have been historically had 100% success. This will be the first year for cow elk but they expect the same results with elk being in large herds. They prefer a minimum of 2 hunters as guiding will be 2x1 and it won’t be uncommon to take multiple cows out of a herd at the same time.
