AriSEIA's News You Can Use
May 8, 2020
Dear AriSEIA Members,

I hope many of you were able to join us for our virtual discussion on the Interconnection of Distributed Generation Facilities which happened this afternoon. This members-only engagement is designed to solicit input and discuss issues related to the utilities’ upcoming Interconnection Manual filings. These Manuals will have a large impact on the day to day operations of solar installers and we are seeking input from members on complications with interconnection that may be solved in the manuals.

These interconnection rules establish consumer and utility rights and responsibilities, disconnection of Distributed Generation Facilities, safety requirements, standards for electric cooperatives, reporting requirements, and most importantly the requirement for utilities to implement and comply with a Commission-approved Interconnection Manual.

This is also your last call to fill out our webinar topics survey, so please take a moment to do this so we can best serve you.

Even with our country still reeling from this pandemic, there could not be a better time to advocate for all of the things AriSEIA is committed to. To do this effectively, we will need your voices and involvement like never before, so please help us grow our membership by referring others you know to AriSEIA or have them reach out to me personally!

At your service,

Nicole LaSlavic

Local and National Updates
Rebuilding the West through bold investment in clean energy
Amid trying times and economic hardship like we are currently facing, it’s often difficult to find a silver lining, but it’s worth noting that bold projects that drive meaningful change have often sprung out of turmoil and crises. Take Hoover and Glen Canyon dams, for example, which rose from the depths of the Great Depression to put Americans to back to work and power the economic growth of the West.
States Standing Strong on Clean Enegy Commitments Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
As consumers and businesses grapple with the impacts of COVID-19, which is already shifting daily load shapes and electricity demand, regulators across the country are responding.
Both Conservatives and Liberals Want a Green Energy Future, but for Different Reasons
Political divisions are a growing fixture in the United States today, whether the topic is marriage across party lines, responding to climate change or concern about coronavirus exposure. Especially in a presidential election year, the vast divide between conservatives and liberals often feels nearly impossible to bridge.
