As a quick reminder, if you're interested in all things regulatory and political that impact your business, please join us for our monthly Public Policy Committee meeting. At these meetings we discuss important items such as the APS Rate Case, the ongoing Energy Rules, as well as the various legislation that is being pushed this year. 

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Our meeting will continue in the virtual format in order to encourage the most participation. Please join us and be prepared to learn, ask questions and voice your concerns!

NREL Solar TRACE and SolarAPP+ Roundtable
Event Detail:
Join SEIA and NREL on Wednesday, April 14th for a demonstration and roundtable discussion featuring the newly launched Solar TRACE and SolarAPP+. Solar TRACE will strengthen the ability for jurisdictions and utilities to identify opportunities to improve their permitting, inspection and interconnection (PII) cycle-time, accelerating realization of shorter cycle-times with the adoption of Solar APP+.

The roundtable will include key members of the SolarAPP+ development and implementation team who will discuss how these two tools can achieve joint civic and industry goals through insight gained from Solar TRACE and the adoption and implementation of SolarAPP+. The roundtable will also feature local government and utility representatives that have adopted a wide range of other best practices to improve the efficiency of PII in their area.

Navajo Nation Finalizes Solar Plant Leases On Tribal Land
The Navajo Nation is moving ahead with two more solar power plants. They’re expected to generate millions of dollars in revenue for the tribe over their lifetimes. One is about an hour north of Flagstaff in Cameron and the other is in Utah near the Arizona border. The power from the plants will mostly go to utility providers outside the Navajo Nation.

Carl Hodges, a longtime Arizona innovator and prominent atmospheric scientist who was one of the first to recognize and address climate change using seawater, died Saturday morning at 84 years old after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
