AriSEIA's News You Can Use
|
|
Dear members,
Recently, AriSEIA invited all six candidates for Arizona Corporation Commission to participate in our candidate series. This series was an opportunity for members of AriSEIA and the public to hear directly from the candidates to gain a better understanding of their views on the solar and renewable energy industry in Arizona. Ultimately, three out of the six who were invited chose to participate in the series: former Commissioner Bill Mundell, Tolleson Mayor Anna Tovar, and former Cave Creek Councilwoman Shea Stanfield.
For those who missed any of the candidate series, visit this blog to view a recording of the call with former Commissioner Bill Mundell, as well as candidate questionnaires from Anna Tovar and Shea Stanfield.
In other election-related news: If you have yet to register to vote, a federal judge granted a last-minute extension to register last week. Though there has already been an appeal filed, the new and current deadline to register to vote is 5:00 pm on October 23, 2020. If you do not know the status of your voter registration, please check here. If you are not registered to vote, please do so here.
Lastly, October 7th is the first day for counties to mail ballots to voters and the first day of in-person early voting. October 23rd is the last day to request a ballot by mail or to sign up for the Permanent Early Voting List. If you do vote by mail, please mail your ballot as soon as possible and no later than Tuesday, October 27th. If you are unable to mail your ballot back by Tuesday, October 27, you should return it to any voting location or secure ballot-drop box in your county by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Most importantly, election day is Tuesday, November 3rd and all ballots (in-person or dropped off) must be received by 7 p.m.
At your service,
Nicole LaSlavic
AriSEIA Executive Director
