APS announced a major solar and storage plan, the ACC joined a national energy planning task force, and more in this week’s Arizona energy news! Also, AriSEIA has been actively involved in SRP’s public rate making process. National Updates
LA scraps plan to rebuild 3 gas plants, moves towards 100% renewable energy

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Monday said the city would abandon plans to rebuild three coastal gas-fired power plants, and instead will focus on energy storage and other clean energy technology as it pursues a 100% renewables goal.

Solar Bill of Rights introduced in California

The legislation would enshrine a customer’s right to generate and store electricity on their own property as well as connecting to the grid without undue burden and freedom from discriminatory fees, as well as setting compensation for battery exports.


Community solar clears first hurdle in New Mexico

Community solar may will be on its way to one of the nation’s sunniest states, as earlier this week the New Mexico House of Representatives passed HB 210, also known as the Community Solar Act.
