ACC Interconnection Rules Update:
AriSEIA & members celebrate a victory 10 years in the making!
The long awaited Final Rulemaking for Interconnection of Distributed Generation Facilities was cleared by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office on February 25, 2020 and is effective immediately. The rules define which systems qualify for the fast track process, which is expanded over what some utilities currently do. The rules define non-exporting and inadvertent exporting systems with batteries that have even greater leeway in obtaining fast track treatment versus systems without batteries. As Arizona achieves higher penetration levels of solar these rules will facilitate system development. Utilities have 90 days to file their conforming Interconnection Manuals, which are subject to ACC approval. ARISEIA plans to review those manuals and provide input to the ACC on burdensome provisions. The rules can be viewed
