Dear Parents and Families, 

Aristoi Classical Academy is hosting a no-cost, high-impact summer school program exclusive to Aristoi students who have completed Kindergarten through 8th grade. Students will be provided academic and enrichment classes. Get ready to ignite a summer of fun while engaging in this five-week Olympic Games experience.  

Summer with Aristoi is designed to provide students a safe setting and:  

● Develop students academically and socially so they are equipped with greater confidence for the next school year 
● Encourage a passion for learning and discovery through high-quality enrichment offerings
● Promote growth in math and reading and motivate students to persist in the face of challenges  

The Aristoi summer school program follows the standards of Aristoi Classical Academy set forth in the Parent/Student Handbook. Please take a moment to review the following information to help your student prepare for Summer with Aristoi.

Summer School will kick off on Friday, June 3rd. The program will last a total of five weeks, Monday through Friday with the exception of July 4th which is a holiday.

Summer School will be held on the Aristoi Upper School – Katy campus at 5610-A Morton Road, Katy, TX 77493.

Summer Preparation 

Pre-Summer Pick Up: June 2 from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM.

Parents/guardians can visit the Griffin Center to pick up student carpool tags, summer information packets, and summer shirts. 

Parents/guardians may also visit the Upper School Front Office to submit updated medical information and medication to the Student Care Department. 

First Day Check-In: On the first day of summer school, Aristoi staff will visit cars to check in students. Students will exit from the left side of the vehicle (driver’s side) next to the Griffin center. Students will be provided a grade-level wristband so they are easily identifiable. 
Elementary students will be escorted to the Griffin Center cafeteria and Upper School students will be directed to the gymnasium. Students dropped off after 8:00 a.m. must have their parent visit the front office to sign the student in.
Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to visit a Summer Information Station in the Upper School Front Office after dropping off students. Visit the station for any inquiries. Parents/guardians may also submit updated medical forms and medication to the Student Care staff.  
Carpool
Daily Carpool: Vehicles for carpool enter from the East campus entrance on Morton Road for both dropoffs and dismissals. The driver proceeds through the horseshoe-shaped campus drive and exits via the west exit back onto Morton Road.

For safety purposes, any person entering the campus outside of drop-off/pick-up times must visit the front office.
Arrival: Drivers may drop off their students beginning at 7:29 a.m. Students will exit from the left side of the vehicle (driver’s side) next to the Griffin center. Students may enter the Griffin Center building at 7:30 a.m. Students dropped off after 8:00 a.m. must have their parent visit the front office to sign the student in. 
Dismissal: Drivers will be invited to enter the curb area for pick-up at approximately 2:00 PM. Curbside dismissal will end at 2:15 PM. Students will be dismissed from the Griffin Center and will enter from the left side of the vehicle (driver’s side) next to the Griffin center. Each vehicle that picks up a student must have a carpool pick-up sign displayed that includes the grade, last name, and first name of each student that is being picked up.

Attendance, Meals, Field Trips, and Dress Code

Attendance Expectations: Due to the limited number of available spots, students are expected to attend summer school at least 80% of the five weeks (20 out of 25 days). Failure to attend the first day of summer school may result in loss of enrollment. Parents/guardians will be contacted regarding absences. Please communicate absences to the school. 
 
Summer School Meals: Please find the summer meal menus attached. Breakfast will be provided between 7:30 - 7:50 AM daily. Lunch will be provided daily. Elementary 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Middle School 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM (Please be advised that mealtimes are subject to change due to special events on campus. Alternative schedules will be communicated.) 

Enrichment/Field Trips: Enrichment will be held each afternoon. Student schedules will be provided on the first day of the program.  

Exciting Olympic Games competitions will be held on Fridays on campus. 

Field trips will be offered provided that we have adequate supervision. Field trips will be held on Fridays. Permission slips will be sent home the first week of the program. Parent chaperones are requested. Please contact Mrs. Harrison to sign up as a chaperone.  

Swim field trips will be offered in partnership with the YMCA. Parents/guardians must complete a YMCA consent form in addition to the Aristoi permission slip. 

Dress code: Students will be provided two summer shirts.  

Appropriate attire includes: 

- Tops: Summer or other approved Spirit shirts 
- Bottoms: jeans or uniform or athletic bottoms to the knees 
- Shoes: Laced or velcro sneakers; No Sandals or flip-flops 

- Swim field trip attire:  
  • Students must report to school in dress code, wearing the appropriate attire and shoes listed above daily. Swimwear should be packed in a backpack or worn under appropriate summer school attire. Sandals may be packed solely for the swim trip. Students must change into/out of swimwear independently. Staff will not assist with changing swimwear. 
  • Males – Swim trunks and swim shirt. No racing or short swim trunks 
  • Females – One piece only. If all you have is a two-piece bathing suit, you must wear a coverup while swimming.  
Daily Items, Medical Information, and Behavior

What to Bring:

  • Extra set of clothes (elementary students) 

Recommended Items 
  • Sunscreen (Aerosol Spray NOT allowed) Students will be required to perform self-application. Staff will not assist with application. 
  • Optional healthy snack 
  • Optional personal pencil box with pencils, colored pencils, pens, and scissors - Students with special dietary needs may bring their lunch 

Medical Information: Ms. Sarver Upper School Student Care staff, will provide summer student care and will be on campus daily. Summer school student care will follow the same policies set for during the school year.  

Parents/guardians are required to complete and return medical authorization forms on the first day of summer school if a student has a change in medication or new medication.


Emergency medication must be checked in on the first day of attending the program.


Behavior: Behavior policies will be followed as set forth in the Parent/Student Handbook.
YMCA After Care

The YMCA is providing after care for students who attend the summer school program. After care will be held at the Aristoi Elementary Katy Campus for a reduced cost. You must register for this service through the YMCA.  Click here for the flyer. 

Transportation to the after care program is not currently provided by Aristoi Classical Academy. 

Please complete this survey to tell us if you are in need of transportation to the YMCA after care program. Aristoi will then assess if the resources are available to offer transportation. 

Parents/guardians will be informed if transportation becomes available through Aristoi Classical Academy.  The survey will close on June 1.
