Read Across America

Readers are leaders and at Aristoi Classical Academy-Katy Grammar School Campus, that is especially true!

As we celebrated National Reading Month (in conjunction with Dr. Seuss’s birthday), students kept a reading log of their minutes read during the week of March 4th-March 8th. On Friday all the reading logs were returned to school and minutes were tallied. One class per grade level was declared the winner, based on the number of minutes read per class. Those five classes enjoyed a delicious popsicle at the end of the day.

In a combined total, our scholars read 46,519 minutes in one week. That is very impressive! Thank you students and families for your support, and participation in this fun campus-wide event. Reading is a skill that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. We are a school that loves and values readers.

Cursive Contest (2nd & 3rd Grade)

Beautiful cursive handwriting is a hallmark of Aristoi Classical Academy!

For scholars in second and third grade, our cursive instruction workbooks are published by New American Cursive Penmanship, and they are sponsoring a cursive handwriting contest. Students may participate in this contest by writing the Pledge to the American flag in cursive and submitting their work for consideration.

Students will work on this optional project during Griffin time and will submit their entries to teachers by March 27. A panel of judges will select the Aristoi finalists which will be forwarded to New American Cursive Penmanship.

If your scholar’s work is selected as a finalist, you will receive a permission form on April 2, which will be due back to campus by April 5.

We are excited to submit beautiful handwriting examples and see if our scholars are chosen as winners.
