2018 Governor's Arts Awards Nominees Announced
Each year, our friends at Arizona Citizens for the Arts, a statewide arts advocacy organization, partners with the Office of the Governor to honor artists, educators, community and business leaders, organizations and companies who have made significant contributions to Arizona's arts and culture. On December 19, 2017, they announced the 2018 Governor's Arts Awards nominees!
ACF Announces New Fund to Support Arizona Arts and Creative Economy
This month Arizona Community Foundation announced the establishment of an endowment to enable investments in arts and culture to benefit Arizona residents and communities. The Newton and Betty Rosenzweig Fund for the Arts is expected to be endowed at more than $14 million over time and will provide over $500,000 in grant funding annually for decades to come.
Piper Trust Awards $3,716,100 to Maricopa County Arts Organizations
This month Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust announced $3,716,100 in grants to Maricopa County arts and culture organizations in 2017—including Artspace Projects, Black Theatre Troupe, CALA Alliance, Chandler Cultural Foundation, Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Theatre, Rosie's House, and Scottsdale Arts. AGILE Project grants were awarded to Arizona Opera, Children's Museum of Phoenix, Childsplay, and IDEA Museum.
ACF Announces New Fund to Support Arizona Arts and Creative Economy
This month ArtPlace America announced the recipients of 2017 National Creative Placemaking Funds. Among the recipients is Arizona's Southwest Folklife Alliance. With their $350,000 grant wi, folklorist, curator, and anthropologist Dr. Maribel Alvarez will lead a project to repurpose the former residence of former Arizona Governor Raul Casto as a local arts incubator, creating both workforce and economic development opportunities for youth in and around Nogales, AZ.

FY2019 National Endowment for the Arts Funding Guidelines Posted 
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has posted guidelines and application materials for three funding categories--- Art Works, Challenge America, and Creative Writing Fellowships. The fiscal year 2019 Art Works and Challenge America programs support projects taking place beginning in 2019. In addition, guidelines for fiscal year 2019 Creative Writing Fellowships: Poetry are posted for application by published creative writers. 
Exhibition Space Available at 2018 Casa Grande Street Fair
Artist exhibition space is still available for next month's Casa Grande 18th Annual Historic Downtown Street Fair/Car and Bike Show on January 20th and 21st, 2018. Featuring a beer garden and live entertainment both days, as well as a children’s area with rides and games, the event has quickly established itself as one of the largest festivals in the region, with attendance estimated at 50,000 over the span of the 2 day event.
