Commissioner
Márquez
Peterson
is the first Hispanic woman appointed to this prestigious and powerful Arizona Corporation Commission (AZCC) and the first Hispanic Chamber executive to reach that level. She is also, perhaps, one of the first Hispanics who comes with an entrepreneur experience as a small business owner.
As President/CEO of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber from 2009 until 2018, she served the business community in the bilingual, bi-cultural region of the Arizona-Sonora border and was recognized as the Hispanic Chamber of the Year by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The Tucson Chamber represents over 1800 businesses and in partnership with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one the largest chambers in the State of Arizona.
She also has been in leadership roles with the National Association of Women Business Owners in Greater Tucson.
Lea previously owned and operated a business brokerage firm from 2005 to 2009 and a chain of six gasoline stations and convenience stores with 50 employees from 1998 to 2005 in the Tucson Region.

In the case of Le
a
M
á
rquez Peterson, a Republican, we are convinced she is the best candidate to serve on the Arizona Corporation Commission due to her business background, understanding, and leadership whether it is with the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) or her role in a business advisory group to former President Barack Obama. Lea demonstrates enormous capacity for solid policy decisions with her breadth and depth of experience and knowledge; she is an outstanding champion for the people of Arizona.
We encourage all stakeholders and friends to take a good look at this exceptional woman and consider supporting her candidacy for the Arizona Corporation Commission with your vote in the Arizona primary on August 4, 2020.
