The 94th State FFA Leadership Conference is approaching June 8-10 at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, with the general sessions conducted at the University of Arizona. We invite you to join more than 1,000 attendees for this annual event to honor award winners, State FFA Degree recipients, scholarship recipients, and many other students.
During the conference, workshops will be conducted for students and advisors. A Career & Education Fair coordinated by the Foundation will feature 41 exhibitors on Thursday, June 8 from 8:00 am until noon at the Westin La Paloma. If you have never had the opportunity to attend the State FFA Leadership Conference, this is an experience you do not want to miss.
The State FFA Officers will each present their retiring address during a session. The FFA Chorus will perform throughout the event and the Honorary Degree recipients will be recognized. During the third general session, Friday, June 9th at 7:30 pm, the Foundation will present a support check to the Arizona Association FFA and the University of Arizona, College of Agriculture & Life Science, Department of Agriculture Education, Technology, and Innovation.
This is one of many events throughout the year that could not continue without the tremendous support of the donors. For more details about the State FFA Leadership Conference schedule, visit https://www.azffa.org/slc

A Year of Memories
by Jayleen Anderson, 2022-2023 State FFA Reporter

What a year it has been! Serving as a member of the Arizona FFA State Officer Team, along with 7 other leaders from every corner of the state, has been the opportunity of a lifetime. We have traveled across Arizona and even to Indianapolis as well as our Nation’s Capital. From chapter visits, to meeting with sponsors, Spring Conference, State FFA Camp, The Blue and Gold Gala, and more we have had an adventurous year to say the least. With the 94th annual State FFA Leadership Conference coming up, I’ve thought a lot about what our team has done and the memories we’ll forever hold from this year.
From August to October, we were heavy into chapter visits. My teammates, Emmett Richter, Kaden Zimmerman, Johnny Collins, and Aria Christianson were able to spend a week with some of our Northern Arizona FFA Chapters - Monument Valley, Chinle, and Ganado. Johnny expressed, “I could never imagine what it was like up there without seeing it myself. It makes me want to make sure all FFA members there have the same opportunities as those in more remote areas.”

2022-2023 State FFA Officer Team
|
|
Each year during the State FFA Leadership Conference, FFA members are elected to serve on the State FFA Officer Team. This group of individuals go through a series of rigorous interviews and activities days prior to the conference with the nominating committee.
Once elected, their year kicks off immediately with training for the State FFA Leadership Camp, officer training and preparing for the year of service.
It has been a pleasure this past year for the Foundation to work with a group of amazing leaders. We have seen them grow in their leadership skills throughout the year as they traveled across Arizona meeting with FFA members. They served as an ambassador and advocates for youth in agriculture.
Congratulations to the 2022-2023 State FFA Officer Team for an amazing year! We look forward to you continuing your involvement as a past state officer, alumni and supporter of the Foundation.

Special Foundation Board Thank You
|
|
The Arizona Agricultural Education/FFA Foundation would like to thank Travis Zimmerman for serving as a Board of Trustee member. Travis has been a valuable member of the board serving in his At-Large position for the past three years.
As a past State FFA President for the Arizona Association FFA, former agriculture education teacher, alumni member, parent of FFA members and spouse of a current agriculture education teacher, we know that Travis has FFA in his blood and will always continue to be an advocate for FFA and agriculture education. We wish Travis the best!
We would also like to thank Kaden Zimmerman, the 2022-2023 State FFA President. Kaden served on the Foundation Board in his role as the State President. It was a very unique year where we had the opportunity to have three Zimmerman's serve on the Foundation Board. Kaden's mom continues to serve as the Foundation Representative for the Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association. Kaden will be retiring as a State FFA Officer in another week and will pass his gavel on to the new State President who will serve on the Foundation Board in the coming year.
We wish Kaden the best in the next chapter of his life. We appreciate his service to the Foundation and the FFA members of Arizona.
