The conference events will kick off earlier that day with the Career & Education Fair at the Westin La Paloma with more than 40 exhibitors. The Chapter Display contest will be taking place as well as several Leadership Development Contests over the 3-days of the conference.
National Officer, Kanyon Huntington, Central Region Vice President will be attending the conference to meet FFA members and present a few leadership workshops.
During the 3rd general session students will be recognized for their achievements through the Proficiency Award Program, Scholarships presented, Honorary Degrees awarded and more.
This year two new contests have been added to the State Conference. The Photo Contest and the Metal Art Contest. Stay tuned on June 6th when we open the Metal Art Silent Auction. There are seven metal art items created by FFA members that you will have an opportunity to bid on. The items will be mailed out through the Arizona Association FFA. Visit https://2024AZFFAConf.givesmart.com on June 6th when the auction launches. We will make an announcement on social media.
We are very grateful to the nine young ladies that served this past year as State FFA Officers. These young ladies spent a tremendous amount of hours this past year traveling across Arizona conducting chapter visits, presentation at chapter banquets, developing and conducting leadership workshops, serving as delegates at the National FFA Convention, representing the Arizona Association during industry events and much more. We thank them for their service and always keeping the FFA members at the top of their list. We wish them the best as they transition this year to focus on their education, careers and continuing to serve as FFA alumni.

FFA Alumni Member Leads Local Landscape Architecture & Irrigation Consulting Company
|
|
We are grateful for the opportunity to catch up with FFA Alumni Boyd Coleman. We asked him several questions regarding his FFA experience and how his time in FFA might have shaped where he is today.
Coleman was an active member and officer of the Willcox FFA Chapter while in high school. He was the Greenhand President, Chapter Sentinel, and Chapter Vice-President during his time as a Willcox FFA member. Coleman received his State FFA Degree, and his Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) was landscape maintenance and specialty animal production. After school and on weekends, he would mow and care for multiple lawns and gardens in Willcox.
Under the guidance of his father and grandfather, Jim and Tolbert Coleman, Coleman raised exotic parrots and other birds, including finches, parakeets, conures, cockatoos, and military and blue and gold macaws. After high school, Coleman graduated from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a degree in Agricultural Education. He taught Agricultural Education at Mayer High School for one year and then at Deer Valley High School for one year until the program was discontinued. At this point, Coleman shifted his career focus to the landscape industry where he became a landscape designer and eventually a landscape architect.
Coleman is the founder and President of Coleman Design Group, Landscape Architecture, and Irrigation Consulting (CDG). The firm was founded in 2001 and restarted in 2014 after recovery from the economic downturn of 2008. In 2017, CDG shifted its focus and mission to provide irrigation consulting and design services to other landscape architectural firms that do not provide irrigation design services in-house. Coleman stays involved with FFA by supporting the State FFA Foundation, funding an annual scholarship to a college student pursuing a degree in a landscape related field, supporting a state proficiency award, and by participating in the FFA Blue Jacket Legacy sponsorship program.

We are pleased to announce the 2024 Seniors that have been honored in the 1928 Senior Society by a friend or family member for their hardwork, commitment and dedication to complete high school and all of their accomplishments.
1928 is a significant year when the National FFA Organization was founded. Each inductee will have received a Senior Society FFA decal and a letter sharing who honored them. They will be recognized during the State FFA Leadership Conference by having their name listed in our State FFA Leadership Conference app, recognized on screen with the Senior Society list during a conference session, and have been listed on the Foundation website.
We encourage you to consider honoring a 2025 Senior. Visit the website to process your submission. Deadline for 2025 senior recognition is May 1, 2025.

Estate plans often prompt some deep thinking from best-case to worst-case scenarios. A contingent bequest is a very flexible arrangement that directs a gift to us only if certain life events do not occur.
