The 8th annual Blue & Gold Gala has hit two new records this year with only one table and a handful of individual tickets remaining, increasing our attendance this year to 700 attendees! We also anticipate we will sell out in advanced of last year's sell out date! The support and response for the gala this coming January has been heartwarming. 'The Biggest Night in Arizona Agriculture' has become the signature event of the year!
This event will celebrate agriculture education and FFA in Arizona. We are honored to recognize this year's Blue & Gold Honoree, Bruce Cain from Farm Bureau Financial Services. We will also recognize the Agriculturalist of the Year with the announcement of this individual coming in the next month. Professional auctioneer, Anna Aja, will be returning. The Dina Preston Band will be providing the entertainment during the reception and for the after party. We are very excited to have Cory McCloskey from Fox 10 serving as the emcee this year.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available in the Friends of the Blue & Gold level, ranging from $5,000 to the Patron support of $500.
We are also still accepting donations for the silent auction. This is a great opportunity to showcase a service, product or get creative this holiday season while shopping and pick up a few items to donate to the gala!

Nursery Industry Leader Advocates for FFA
|
|
The Arizona Agricultural Education/FFA Foundation was grateful for the opportunity to interview Cheryl Koury, Executive Director of the Arizona Nursery Association and Arizona Crop Protection Association. Cheryl is an incredible example of how the agriculture industry has become part of a career that she loves.
We asked about her start in the agriculture industry, she replied, “My involvement with the agriculture industry in Arizona began in October 1989 when I took a job with the Arizona Nursery Association (ANA) as their Marketing Director. Little did I know that this would become my career path, as I have been with ANA ever since and have been their Executive Director since 1992. Shortly after beginning with them, Melody Lawson from the Arizona Farm Bureau at that time and Neil Schneider who was with the Arizona Association FFA at the time, recruited me as a judge for the Star Tours, FFA National Officer interviews and a few years after that, Doug Daley and Ken Williams invited me to serve on the Agricultural Education/FFA Foundation Board of Directors.”
