To Our Community,
Effective Sunday, April 13, 2025, Arizona Humanities is pausing the following grants, programs, and events:
- Project Grants, Mini Grants
- AZ Speaks programs statewide, and new presenter applications
- 2025 Hands-On Humanities Awards Celebration
- Nominations for the annual humanities awards
We have been forced to suspend some grants and programs in direct response to the termination of our general operating support grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The decision was not made lightly, and we hope to continue these programs in the future.
We have been here for 50 years. We have the power to be here for 50 more—but not without your help.
3 ways you can help us right now:
-
Call your representatives: Voice your support for the NEH by clicking here. Simply enter your zip code and get access to your local representatives.
-
Mobilize and spread the word: Forward this email with your friends, colleagues, and peers. You can also use our sample social media post to further your outreach.
-
Support our work directly: With our funding disrupted, your donations go further than ever before. Click here to make a donation.
We are diligently working with our local, state, and national partners to challenge this unlawful decision and are committed to defending the essential role the humanities play in building informed, connected, and resilient communities. This is the most serious threat to the humanities in a generation. But together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for standing with us.
