Marketing/Advancement Regional Meetings | | ACC hosted regional meetings for marketing and advancement professionals at member institutions. Groups met at Ozarka College, UACC Morrilton, ASU Mid South, and UA Hope-Texarkana to discuss social media engagement, fundraising, legislative changes, best practices, and other issues facing community college staff in the fields of marketing and advancement. | | Richmond Federal Reserve Study | | ACC, community college Presidents and Chancellors, and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education met with representatives from the Richmond Federal Reserve about a study of Arkansas community colleges that the Reserve will be conducting in 2025. Traditional definitions and measures of success have not necessarily fit community colleges, as our students face unique challenges and often have different goals than the average student at a 4-year university. The purpose of the Federal Reserves study is to examine data from Arkansas community colleges under a broader definition of student success to paint a more accurate picture of how well our students and colleges are doing. For more information, visit the Federal Reserve website. | | ACC is a partner in UA-Pulaski Technical College's BRIDGE Consortium, a four-year grant funded through the U.S. Department of Labor. The project will serve 1,590 students enrolled in nursing and EMT pathway training programs at consortium colleges (UAPTC, ASUMS, NWACC, PCCUA, SEARK, and UAEACC). ACC will develop a statewide sector strategy that engages employers and other stakeholders; identify resources to help meet student support needs; and coordinate outreach and communication. | | WHAT'S HAPPENING AT AR COMMUNITY COLLEGES | | Dr. Tyrone Jackson Appointed to Pine Bluff Advisory Board | | Dr. Tyrone Jackson, President of Southeast Arkansas College, has been selected by the Pine Bluff Mayor, Vivian Flowers, to serve on the newly established CEO Advisory Roundtable.
