WHAT: The Arlington Chamber of Commerce presents the 33rd Annual Valor Awards. Leadership of the Arlington County Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, and Office of the Sheriff submit nominations for Valor Award honorees, those  who have demonstrated exceptional heroic actions in the line of  duty.  Doug Hill,  Vice President, Weather and Chief Meteorologist for ABC7/WJLA-TV , will s erve as Master of Ceremonies.

WHY: The Valor Awards ceremony honors members of Arlington County's Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management and Office of the Sheriff who have exemplified extraordinary heroic actions and exceptional performance in the line of  duty. This year, the Chamber will also be honoring Arlington County Chief of Police M. Douglas Scott who retired in March following a 40-year career in law enforcement, including 12 years as Arlington County Chief of Police.

WHO: Founded in 1924, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary, nonprofit organization of hundreds of businesses and thousands of professional people who are committed to the economic prosperity and civic well being of the Arlington community.
