A note from the president

I want to start off this week by acknowledging a few milestones -- first, the departure of Jamie Grant from the Ordway. While this is a bittersweet moment, I want to thank Jamie for his leadership and wish him well in his next venture. Our arts community is better off because of his hard work.

Second, I want to wish Saint Dinette a happy five-year anniversary! This restaurant has become a cornerstone of the Lowertown community, and we could not be happier to have such a delicious and welcoming spot in our downtown.

Congratulations are also in order for Melanie McMahon, John McCarthy, and my friend Sean Kershaw for their appointments to fill key leadership roles for the City. I look forward to working with them to strengthen our downtown.

Finally, I realized recently that I have had the honor of serving as president of this organization for two years now. These past few months have shown me just how resilient and supportive our downtown community is. I am blown away by our businesses who have been innovative and community-focused during these hard times, and by everyone who has been working to support our restaurants, retail and community members. And while it certainly won't look the same, I'm looking forward to our continued work together in our beloved downtown, and I hope you all are too.
