A note from the president

In ordinary times, thousands of us would gather together in Rice Park to celebrate the annual flipping of the switch for Rice Park Powered by Xcel Energy. This is no ordinary year though, so instead please enjoy a virtual park lighting and an invitation to make a stop in Rice Park as you come downtown to shop, pick up takeout or simply to enjoy the lights.
A huge thank you to all the sponsors who made this year's tree lighting possible - Xcel Energy, Ecolab, Securian, the Rice Park Association and our partners at the City including Councilmember Noecker and Parks and Recreation Director Mike Hahm.
Before signing off for a long weekend, I want to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has invested their time, talents and resources over the past year into downtown. I am especially grateful for the ways in which our community has come together during the challenges that 2020 has tossed our way. It is that dedication that gives me confidence that downtown Saint Paul will bounce back stronger than ever.
