A note from the president
Hello friends,

Happy Memorial Day weekend to one and all. This gateway weekend puts us right on the cusp of all the summertime fun in downtown Saint Paul.

This week I was honored to present the keynote address at the SPACC Member Meeting, and share the stage at the Saint Paul Development Summit. Both were great opportunities for me to learn more about some of the incredible work happening in our downtown. KARE11 did a nice job of capturing some of that development work here .

After we get back from the holiday break, we start right in with the Flint Hills Family Festival, which is always an incredible event. Then the following week will be the launch of Streets of Summer, our pilot Stewardship project, with the Street Team ambassadors rolling out on June 3 and placemaking activities in the days after. We’re looking forward to all of it!

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer
President
The Saint Paul Downtown Alliance
With Julio Fesser, congratulations to Securian Financial on their beautiful renovations.

Talking downtown development
Twice this week we had the privilege to share news and updates about the Downtown Alliance and all the development occuring downtown with some amazing audiences.

The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce graciously invited Joe to give the keynote remarks at their May Member Meeting on Wednesday. We were more than happy to report on the work we've done in our first year and provide an in depth preview of the Streets of Summer pilot stewardship program which launches a week from Monday!

The following day Joe had the opportunity to present on a Development in Downtown Saint Paul panel at the Minnesota Real Estate Journal Saint Paul Development Summit. It was great to hear from some of the developers, contractors and property managers behind recent and future downtown projects.
