It's an exciting weekend downtown for hockey fans! The girls' state high school hockey tournament continues tonight and the
will take place tomorrow evening. Good luck to all the players (and welcome downtown to all out of town guests!). Also happening tomorrow is the much anticipated
celebration. You can read more about that below. Sunday afternoon is the 7th Annual
match up between city of Saint Paul staff and electeds and their counterparts at Ramsey County.
I also want to congratulate Lee Krueger and his team at the Port Authority on the opening of the new Saint Paul Event Center! This cool and beautiful space is a great addition to downtown Saint Paul. Adding to the excitement is the impending opening of the Pill Box tavern and the new Red's Savoy in the Treasure Island Center. The Port is owed a debt of gratitude for transforming the old Dayton's into such a vibrant new building. Keep reading for more info on this project.
Finally, we hope you'll join us and hundreds of other Saint Paul business leaders and community members next week at the
Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting
. I had the pleasure of hearing keynote speaker Travis McCready speak at last year's InterCity Leadership Visit and am looking forward to welcoming him to Saint Paul.
See you all around (down)town,
The Saint Paul Downtown Alliance
