A note from the president
Happy Friday, friends!

I know I often say there is a ton going on in downtown Saint Paul, but that’s because there is! And this weekend is no different: there’s  Grillfest at CHS Field, Cinco de Mayo festivities across the River, Festival of Nations at RiverCentre, a Kentucky Derby party at Dark Horse , Lizzo at the Palace Theatre, and the first monthly Spire Lowertown Clean Up event on Sunday.
We’re also coming off a productive week. Baird Wealth Management celebrated their 100 th aniversary and their forthcoming move into downtown Saint Paul at the History Center. This morning Catholic Charities hosted their 38 th Annual Community Breakfast. And earlier this week we hosted a panel discussion to hear from private sector property managers about their experience building the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District. This was a great chance to learn more about what other downtowns are doing to attract more employers, jobs and vitality.
Hopefully I’ll see you out and about this weekend, and look for our press conference in support of the B Line project and its connection into downtown.

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer

Grillfest happening this weekend
Battles for both the best burger and bloody Mary, demonstrations and samples, live music and more - it's all happening this weekend at CHS Field for the eighth annual Minnesota Monthly Grill Fest. Tickets are still available for Saturday and Sunday events. Grillfest happens rain or shine, but let's hope for great weather all weekend!

B Line press conference next week
On Tuesday, May 7 at 3:30 p.m., East Metro Strong, the Saint Paul Downtown Alliance, the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Saint Paul will be holding a press conference to support transit investment and hear about the importance of extending the Metro Transit B line into downtown Saint Paul.
