A note from the president
Hey Friends,

Can you believe it's nearly October? Despite the dropping temps, we can still pretend it's still summer for one more night at an encore presentation of Music in Mears tonight . Grab a blanket and some hot chocolate and celebrate the end of a great season.

To all of our SPACC member friends - if you've been curious to check out Wellworth, the new downtown coworking space, now is a great time. All next week Wellworth is offering free space to any SPACC member. Reserve your spot here .

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer

Regions Hospital groundbreaking
Next week, Regions Hospital will officially break ground on their new birth center. The 160,000 square foot facility will house larger birthing suites, expanded Neonatal ICU services and dedicated spaces for families, visitors and care teams. Construction is expected to be complete in 2020. This major investment is great news for all of downtown Saint Paul!

New roads for downtown
In Mayor Carter’s budget proposal, we learned that our downtown streets could begin to look a lot different over the next three years. Public Works director Kathy Lantry is working on the mutli-million dollar plan to mill and overlay every street downtown. This work will require a lot of work planning and coordinating with downtown businesses, property owners, residents, and more. The Alliance plans to work closely with the City too help with this effort, so look for opportunities to engage to make sure these needed improvements go as well smoothly as possible.

Mark your calendars : coming up at Central Station
City Councilmember Rebecca Noecker will be at Pop Ups at Central Station next Friday. Come prepared with questions or stop by just to say hello.
