News from the Downtown Alliance

A note from the president

First and foremost, thank you to all of the volunteers who helped out with Downtown Clean Up Day last week. We are consistently impressed by the dedication of this downtown community. Special thanks to Securian employees, Landmark Center employees, Councilmember Noecker and her family, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation staff and all the downtown residents who were part of this effort.

Yesterday, Governor Walz announced a plan that will slowly and methodically bring more and more people back downtown.  The Downtown Alliance remains committed to providing assistance to our business community. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or someone in your network is looking to be connected to resources.

Finally, we will be hosting the first of what may become a regular check-in on the state of downtown with updates from public safety and policy experts. This update call will take place Tuesday 5/19 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. If you would like to listen in please reach out to us by replying to this email.

Stay safe and be well,
Joe Spencer
Saint Paul Downtown Alliance
Thank you volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who came out for our first Downtown Clean Up Day last week.

Nearly 50 volunteers spent time walking through downtown to do some outdoor spring cleaning to remove litter and debris from our streets, sidewalks and parks. We appreciate the time and dedication of our downtown community that allowed us to work together, apart.

Good news from around downtown
Turning a challenge into fun in a way that only the Saints can, the St. Paul Saints are hosting Nopening Day 2020 on Tuesday evening. While Opening Day has been postponed, we see no reason not to celebrate the 2019 League Champions and kick off the 2020 season. A full schedule of "events" can be found below, and includes curbside swag pick up for the first 500 fans, a virtual broadcast of the CHS Field inaugural game, virtual fireworks and more.

Our friends at Visit Saint Paul continue to create fun and inspiring content and activities for Saint Paulites to enjoy from home. In addition to Saint Paul from Home folks can also now download the STP Activity Pack or do a digital Saint Paul puzzle.

This week we heard from three more downtown restaurants that are now open for takeout orders. Gray Duck , Freshii , and Hope Breakfast Bar have all been added to the Downtown Restaurant and Retail map .
