A note from the president
Hello friends,

I had the honor of speaking at this week’s GREATERMSP Regional Indicators Dashboard event about the importance of goal-setting for our mission of adding jobs for our region.

As we benchmark downtown Saint Paul against other cities in the vitality index we see that we should be working to grow our downtown from 75,000 to 95,000 jobs. All of our partners will have to work together to achieve that, and it won’t come all at once, but I believe we will do it. Our growing residential numbers will add to the vitality making our downtown more attractive for employers, and being a part of a growing region is cause for celebration. In fact, did you know that our region had one of the highest increases of net migration for 25 – 34 year olds? While this key talent segment that we are all competing for was leaving cities like San Francisco and Chicago they were making their way to Saint Paul and our region. Check out the rest of the dashboard results from GREATERMSP.
Please take note of our first ever Annual Meeting coming up next month on July 24th. It's been an exciting year, and I’d love for you to join our celebration. Also, if you haven’t stopped in on the new Loon Café, I recommend it. Be sure to take a look at the first of three mural panels that was installed on the Palace Theatre while you're there.
Have a happy and safe Independence Day celebration next week!

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer
