Join us for the next Speaker Series event

Friends,

Congrats are in order this week. First, once again a big round of applause and thanks to Securian Financial for throwing a great party in Mears Park last week. It was wonderful to have so many Securian associates back in downtown and I've heard nothing but glowing reviews in the days since.

Second, congrats to Todd Hurley on his new, more permanent role as president of the Saint Paul Port Authority. Todd is a great player to have on our team and we're happy to be able to continue our work together. Congratulations, Todd!

I also want to call your attention to the invitation below for our next virtual Speaker Series event. On August 16, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi will join us to share more about the criminal justice system in Ramsey County, recent public safety trends and more. This will also be a great opportunity to ask questions. More details and the link to register can be found below.

Keep reading for a fun shout out about Friday night roller skating, a great line up of events for the week – including three jam-packed nights at the X beginning tonight – and more.

Take care,

Joe

Great question, let me show you.

Roller rink supporters focus on former Mpls. ice arena

There's a new tradition at Rice Park in downtown Saint Paul: on Friday nights, roller skaters turn the sidewalk into a makeshift skate-dance floor. The group Twin Cities Skaters host the weekly skate sessions featuring a DJ and crates of free rental skates.
