A note from the president

Events were back in a big way this week. I had a terrific time with the scores of others attending Jazz Fest last weekend as it made its in-person return; it was great to see the Ordway welcome guests back Sunday evening to see Maz Jobrani; and the Harry Styles concert at the Xcel Energy Center Wednesday night was the Twin Cities' first sold-out arena show in 18 months. A huge kudos to all the staff at our downtown venues who have been working hard to get everything ready to welcome visitors back.
Kudos are also in order to our friends Jennifer Hellman and Heidi Larson at Goff Public. It was announced this week that Jennifer will become Goff's first female President and CEO and Heidi will take on the COO role. Congrats to you both!
Don't forget that we're hosting our first Roller Disco event this evening at Rice Park (the vision of people skate dancing around the fountain in Rice Park is one I simply couldn’t shake!). Also - you're all invited to join us next Thursday for the Street Team Appreciation Party; food trucks will be on hand and we’re offering free treats! Keep reading for more info about both events and a look at what else is coming up this week.

Enjoy the weekend,

Joe Spencer

"City and county officials on Saturday unveiled the Larry Cohen Recognition Project. Designed by artist Marjorie Pitz, the $425,000 plaza in the southeast corner of City Hall is intended to serve as a welcoming place where visitors can learn about the city’s immigrant history. In a written statement, organizers described the plaza as consisting of a pergola of light decorated by thin poles intended to mimic the vertical stainless steel details of City Hall, which is also the Ramsey County Courthouse."
