News from the Downtown Alliance
October 4, 2019
A note from the president

It's been an exciting week of tech news around downtown. Longtime downtown resident Infor announced earlier this week that they'll be adding 100 new jobs to their Saint Paul team of 650 downtown at Infor Commons. We're thrilled to welcome these new hires to our community. Additionally, we learned from DEED Commissioner Steve Grove that Launch Minnesota, DEED's new program to provide funding and support to starups around the state, will be making it's home right here in downtown Saint Paul at Osborn370. It's the perfect spot for Launch Minnesota and we couldn't be happier for all of them. All of this news is well timed as we gear up for another great Twin Cities Startup week kick off next Wednesday.

Please also join me in welcoming our newest board members - Ken Smith, District Energy, Jeanne Crain, Bremer Bank, Chris Clark, Xcel Energy, and Jim Scannell, Travelers. We're looking forward to working together to continue to drive jobs and vitality into downtown.

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer

Twin Cities Startup Week back and better than ever
The 6th Annual Twin Cities Startup Week kicks off October 9 and this year there are more events than ever happening in Saint Paul. Startup Week celebrates the innovators, entrepreneurs, hackers and all around talent that is fueling the Twin Cities forward at incredible momentum. The week will feature hundred of events including panels, speakers, tours as well as free coworking around the Twin Cities including downtown at Wellworth and the Glen Nelson Center.

Twin Cities Marathon happening this Sunday
This weekend thousands of runners from around the world will traverse the Twin Cities and descend upon downtown as they run the 38th Annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. There's nothing quite like staking out a spot along Mississippi River Boulevard or Summit Avenue to cheer the runners on as they get closer to the finish line, and it is often the highlight of fall for many Saint Paulites. Congratulations and good luck to everyone participating and our thanks to everyone volunteering this year!
