A note from the president

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Street Team Appreciation Event yesterday afternoon. We couldn't have hoped for a more beautiful day to spend the afternoon in Rice Park playing some yard games, enjoying music from local musician Joe Nicola, and most importantly - thanking the Street Team for all of their hard work this summer. Thanks especially to Saint Paul Downtown Improvement District Board Chair Clint Blaiser and Mayor Carter for their remarks. As Mayor Carter said, people are noticing the difference in downtown and the work being done by the team. You can read more about it here.

Thanks as well to those intrepid trailblazers who came to our first-ever Roller Disco at Rice Park last Friday. I've long dreamed of hosting a skating event in the park and last week was a fantastic kick off. Even without skates, it was a great show to watch! We plan to continue hosting these so keep an eye out for future notices.
This weekend will bring the in-person return of some of our legacy events like the Twin Cities Marathon and Lowertown Art Crawl, as well as an array of new activities like the Loon Fest music series from Big River Pizza and the Bloody Mary Festival happening at Union Depot. Keep reading for more ideas on how to spend your weekend in downtown.

Enjoy the weekend,

Joe Spencer

The #WelcomeBackStPL statue is still moving around downtown, making stops at our favorite parks, venues and destinations.

You’re likely to run into it at one of our events, or you may stumble upon it out of the blue. Either way, we want to see your pictures showing off your StPL pride!

To participate:

  • SNAP a picture with the statue - a selfie, a shot of your dog, or just admiring the scenery, we love them all!
  • TAG us in your post - use #WelcomeBackStPL and @StPLdowntown on your favorite social channel.
  • WIN - each tag gets you entered to win a downtown gift card. Winners are selected randomly.
