A note from the president
Hello friends,

What a week is has been for our downtown generally, and the Alliance specifically as we got our Streets of Summer program underway. The street team has been out making an immediate difference transforming spaces with elbow-grease, warm smiles, and a little TLC. Music surprised and delighted our downtown community and some incredible mosaic work began to appear.

Many thanks to the Knight Foundation, John and Ruth Huss, Lowell Hellervik, and all of our supporters and partners.

Last night, I was sorry to miss the opening installment of Lowertown Sounds (My son’s 8 th Grade Awards night took precedent), but check out the great piece from Chris Riemenschneider singing the praises of this great series.

See you all around (down)town,

Joe Spencer

Join us to celebrate Streets of Summer!
We hope you will all be able to join us for an official kick-off celebration of Streets of Summer next Friday, June 14 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in Landmark Plaza.

Food trucks will be on site so plan to have lunch in the park, meet the Street Team, listen to the music of Kashimana , check out new art installations around the park and visit with your downtown neighbors.

Big Idea Video Contest finalists announced
Three student finalists in the Big Idea Video Contest by the St. Paul Saints and District Energy were announced this week. The contest gave students the opportunity to submit videos with their vision of a more sustainable Minnesota. The winner will be announced at tomorrow night's Saints game and the winner's school will receive a $5,000 donation to put towards environmental and sustainability programming.
