A note from the president

Friends,

A little rain hasn't held us back this week, as our #WelcomeBackStPL campaign gains momentum and we continue to see more activity downtown. It's been great to see some Securian employees and other downtown workers return to the office, and the first night of weekly Trivia Mafia at the Loon kicked off last night.

You also may have noticed that the #StPL statue is on the move -- head to the Xcel Energy Center to see its new home while the Wild host playoff games this weekend. Our Welcome Back Brigade will be onsite with music to celebrate.

Read on to check out the Lowertown Sounds lineup that was announced this week, and to learn more about a downtown Saint Paul startup that's making news.

 Enjoy the weekend,

Joe Spencer

The return of Lowertown Sounds
Beginning June 10,Thursday evenings in Lowertown are going to feel a whole lot more "normal" again. The beloved music series Lowertown Sounds will kick off with performances from Lady Midnight, Allie McIntosh and Chris Holm.

Concerts will happen weekly through the summer, starting at 6 p.m. Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair to snag a spot.

Downtown startup in the news
There's nothing we love more than reading success stories about downtown businesses.

Osborn370-based Upsie recently received nearly double its $10 million venture capital fundraising goal. The downtown tech startup provides direct-to-consumer product warranties for items like electronics and appliances -- purchases for both of which soared during the pandemic.

Upsie moved into downtown just before the pandemic hit, but we can't wait to welcome them back and celebrate their success soon.
