Hello COG Family! I pray your week is going well. As the new school year begins, it is easy to feel overwhelmed with worry. In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells us not to worry and that our heavenly Father will take care of us:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
Matthew 6:25-27

So be encouraged by what our Lord and Savior tells us! At times it is easy to say but hard to do. But remember, God has us in His hands and carries us when times are tough. Let's all try to remember that when we are feeling overwhelmed.

Please see below to keep up to date on COG activities. Reach out if you have questions or want more information.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

COG Celebrations
Dinner Theater
On August 9th and 10th, Community of Grace hosted its annual dinner theater. The show this year was called "Musicals at the Movies" with songs and sketches from Annie, Mulan, Little Shop of Horrors, The Greatest Showman and more. The cast included 6o participants from six different churches ranging from four to 60 years old. They put on a great show for nearly 400 attendees over the two nights. Thank you, Dawn Gillen, cast, and crew for the many weeks of preparation it takes to put on an event like this.

Spotlight
Rock the Reservoir

On August 4th, COG went to the Aurora Reservoir to enjoy a cookout and potluck. The food was great and so was the fellowship. More importantly, we baptized six people in the name of Jesus! This was a great event where we were able to go to a public location and express outwardly what Jesus has done for us inwardly.

If you missed the opportunity to be baptized at Rock the Reservoir, reach out to Pastor Chris to discuss other opportunities.

The Staff's Choice
The staff has started reading Making Room For Life by Randy Frazee. This book helps focus on how to choose a lifestyle of conversation and community over a lifestyle of accumulation.

Pick up a copy and read along with the staff.
