Connecting our church and community to become change agents for Jesus.
Good morning, COG family!

Melanie and I recently went down to Colorado Springs to spend a few days with our son Sean. We went out to do some hiking and exploring and were overwhelmed by God's creation each and every day. Even the weeds that caused my allergies to kick up were beautiful.

I challenge you to take time this week to read Genesis chapter 1. It is 31 verses of God creating all things. Then go outside today and every day this week to look at the mountains, the flowers, the trees around you, the people, the stars, and all things. Take it all in and thank God for His creation. Everything around us is incredible and incredibly made. God is good!

Be salt and light,

Pastor Chris

Pray First Resources
As we continue to commit to Pray First, we want to provide resources to help us grow in our prayer walk. Tom King from the Vision Team has done a great job of gathering resources, and we will provide them on a regular basis.

These are June's resources:

Upcoming Events
Boost
Our June Boost gathering will be on June 30th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Watch for upcoming communications on what this month's meeting will be all about.

We are going to have a dessert potluck afterward! Please bring a dessert to share for fellowship time and serving utensils. COG will provide coffee, water, plates, and eating utensils.
Family Fellowship
We will hold a pre-service fellowship gathering on June 27th from 9:00 - 9:45 am in the North Building foyer. Enjoy snacks and drinks before service and an opportunity to fellowship with old friends and make some new ones.
COG Yardwork
Do you enjoy riding a lawnmower or edging the grass? Maybe trimming hedges is in your sweet spot. If so, have I got an offer for you!

Every year we have a team of people who help out with COG's landscaping needs. If you are interested in joining the team, email Pastor Chris and we will coordinate a schedule with you.
Vacation Bible School
You are Treasured!
Calling all elementary kids who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade! This year's FREE and IN PERSON VBS is June 6th - 10th, 6:00-8:30 pm!

You can sign up in the foyer or email Pastor Chris. Write a check to Community of Grace and put "Rockies Faith Day" in the memo line.

SOGCOG Updates
Tuesday Night Chill
Students are invited to COG Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm starting June 15th for a time to hang out and have some summer fun. Encourage your students to invite their friends to this evening of fun and use it as a catalyst to introducing them to Jesus.

Campfire Convos
Starting July 6th we will add a fun twist to our Tuesday Night Chill by meeting on the COG front lawn from 8-10 pm. We'll hang out around a campfire and share in some culturally relevant conversations, and of course there will be s’mores!!! Bring your own s’more stick and camp chair and don’t miss this new summertime favorite running through the month of July. WE WILL NOT MEET on July 20th because SOGCOG will be at Falls Creek……. and your student should be too!!!!!

Level Up
On August 1st, SOGCOG will welcome in our new 6th graders! Pastor J will be hosting a 6th grader breakfast before service so if you know anyone going into 6th grade, be sure to get them connected with Pastor J. High school students will stay in the main service while our middle school students come over to the South Building for a time to get to know each other a little more as we welcome in our newcomers.

If you have any questions, email Pastor J.

Youth Camp
It's only SOGCOG's biggest event of the year!!!

Falls Creek is one of the most amazing Christian camps in America with literally thousands of middle school and high school students gathering for five days of spiritually-impacting teaching by Shane Pruitt, powerful worship led by Cody Dunbar, and amazing times of fellowship and Bible teaching in our own cabin.

Over the course of the summer at Falls Creek, THOUSANDS of students place their faith in Jesus! This will be an unbelievable opportunity to have your student and their friends hear the Gospel! Check out this link for a little TEASER.

The cost for this life-changing week is $275 per participant BUT we have a few amazing ways that families can bring down this cost:

1. The first ten students who sign up and pay for camp AND have a non-SOGCOG student sign up and pay for camp will receive a $50 credit for their camp fees AND their friend's camp fees. (Pastor J. has the final say on whether or not the friend qualifies as a non-SOGCOG student.)

2. SOGCOG will be holding a couple of fundraising opportunities before camp that will benefit students that choose to participate in these events. Watch for fundraising details coming soon.

Is your student ready to sign up? Follow this LINK for more information about Falls Creek and the student registration form. Please turn in this form as well as payment to Pastor J. Make checks out to COG.

We are still in need of a small, enclosed trailer to borrow for the trip to Falls Creek from July 18-24. If you or someone you know might be interested in loaning a trailer for this week, please email Pastor J or call him at 303-819-9774.

Outdoor Ministry
Outdoor Ministry - There is still room for anyone interested in going on our beginner or intermediate whitewater rafting trips on Saturday, June 12. Please contact Carol Bryan at 303-522-2293 by May 30 for details.
Face Masks Needed
Are you tired of wearing your masks? Are you vaccinated, and ready to get back to a new normal? Don’t throw your cloth masks away!

Our international medical team will likely require people in the villages to wear masks when they visit our medical clinic, and many rural villages do not have masks. I am happy to take any unwanted cloth facemasks, gaiters, or unused surgical masks. You can drop them off in the bin in the foyer.

Thank you!
