Communion will be observed on September 15th during service. Men's Beast Feast: Calling all men of all ages! We will have a cookout at Pastor Joel's house this Sunday, September 8th at 5 pm. Bring your own meat to grill and a side dish to share. Drinks and paper products will be provided. Sign up at the Get Connected table in the back of the sanctuary. Newcomer's Social: If you have been attending COG for a while and want to learn more about the staff, your opportunity is on September 9th at 6:30 pm at Pastor Joel's house. Sign up at the Get Connected table in the back of the sanctuary. Christ-Centered Parenting: Designed to help you lead your children and teens in a confident and responsible way, this six-week course will equip you to address cultural topics which children of all ages face. Starts September 9th, 2019 at 6:15pm. Visit the Get Connected table for pricing and sign up. Women’s Daily Living Workshops: COG is hosting a multi-session workshop on September 13th, 2019 from 6-8:30 pm. Join us for snacks, fellowship, and breakouts. Choose any three sessions: Life’s Healing Choices, Budgeting, Relationships Rehab, Connecting with Your Child, or Cooking Dinner Tips. Sign up at the Women’s Ministry table. BBQ Throwdown: On September 14th at 5 pm at COG, come and enjoy a great meal of smoked brisket, grilled chicken, and all the fixin's including dessert. We are asking for a $5 donation for those 10 years and over. Tickets are available thru Sept 8th before service. You MUST sign up in advance. If you are interested in cooking a brisket for the competition, contact Pastor Chris . Life's Healing Choices Workshop: This workshop focuses on taking a deeper look at the hurts, habits and hang-ups that stifle the abundant life God has planned for us. Sign up at the women's ministry table or confidentially online or by contacting Anita . Cost is $20 for materials and childcare is available upon request. COG Celebrations

Women's Ministry The Women's Ministry came together on August 17th to network and support a local nonprofit organization called Meghan's Wish Foundation. Meghan’s Wish Foundation established with the sole purpose of reaching out to children entering the foster care system in the State of Colorado. The goal is to supply each child (ages 0-18) with a twenty-four-hour emergency tote bag of gently used clothing, toiletries, toys, books, and a card of encouragement from various members of society. On this evening, the group was able to assemble 30 bags for girls ages 2-8 years of age who were placed into foster care . Thank you Kimmie Blakely for organizing and everyone who helped out.

Youth Ministry Well it’s that time of year again. Kids are back to school; old routines are being put back into practice and new routines are being created. So what better way is there to slide back into the school year than Slip n’ Slide Kickball! We had an amazing time welcoming our new 6 th  graders to the youth ministry and sending our graduated seniors out with a splash. We followed up out Slip n’ Slide Kickball event with a Back to School Bash at my house, including delicious burgers, hotdogs and pulled pork graciously provided by Phil, Kelly and Ava Landgraph. We capped the night off with watching another outdoor movie, Back to the Future. Imagine my surprise watching the reaction of a bunch of our teen’s reactions to their first time seeing this classic and iconic film!            Now that the students are back to school, I would ask for you to join with me in praying for their diligence and success in their academic settings and boldness and perseverance in their social settings. Our students are faced with challenges much greater that those we faced in middle and high school and the pressures of social perfection are a constant burden hanging over each and every one of them. God has great things instore for them this year, so let’s be fervently praying for their boldness and steadfastness in their faith as they are entrenched in one of the greatest mission fields in our culture. Spotlight

Hope for Nicaragua On August 3-10, 2019 two of our church members (Joyce Baker and Eric Paulsen) set out to Kuskawas, Nicaragua through the Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International (BMDMI). The community of Kuskawas has been in a difficult economic situation due to the failure of last year's coffee crops and there were plenty of medical and dental needs. Although the medical and dental clinic is what draws people, the true mission of this team is to share Gods love and gospel. The team of 49 members and 32 local translators were able to provide the following support and service to this community.   Patients seen - 3,596 Prescriptions - 15,997 Dental patients - 284 Teeth extractions - 552 Eye clinic patients - 765 Glasses distributed - 742 Meals served - 1846 Women’s clinic patients - 127 Women treated – 47 Home visits - 4 Vet clinic (vaccinations) Cows - 560 Horses - 25 Dogs - 22 Pigs - 17 Mules – 11 Professions of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior – 449! Every year our church sends members to participate in mission work to evangelize to the lost, disciple the saved, and minister to the needs of the poor. Join the team next year August 1-8, 2020!
