Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center President Trish O’Keefe, Ph.D., R.N., has been selected as Grand Marshal for the 2027 St. Patrick’s Day Parade of Morris County. As Grand Marshal, she will lead more than 3,000 marchers down South Street in Morristown at noon on Saturday, March 13. The parade routinely draws between 50,000 and 70,000 spectators. A third-generation Irish American, Trish tracks her roots to County Cork on both sides of her family.
Trish started her career as a bedside nurse 45 years ago and has dedicated her life to serving as a leader at Atlantic Health Morristown. In 2016, she was named president of the hospital and Senior Vice President of Atlantic Health. She also served as Atlantic Health’s Chief Nurse Executive for several years. She was recognized in 2022 by Irish America magazine as one of the Irish Healthcare and Lifesciences 50.

County College of Morris (CCM) has acquired The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Inc., bringing one of the most iconic and influential names in the industry to its campus, beginning in Fall 2026. Through CCM’s Center for Workforce Development, this integration expands opportunities for students seeking successful careers in comics, illustration and graphic storytelling while building upon The Joe Kubert School’s renowned reputation of artistic excellence. The school's relationships include such names as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment, which has helped alumni launch careers with some of the world’s most recognized studios, including Walt Disney Animation, Warner Bros. and Pixar Animation Studios.

Morris County has announced that Michele Reilly has been appointed the new Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of longtime Clerk of the Board Debra Lynch. Michele brings 18 years of municipal government experience, nearly a decade of which was spent as Jefferson Township clerk. She is a Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) and Certified Municipal Registrar (CMR). More recently, Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence-powered Virtual Assistant that provides residents with convenient, around-the-clock access to a variety of information about services offered by the Morris County Clerk's Office.
The Morris County Board of County Commissioners earlier this month approved $4.92 million in grants from the county’s Preservation Trust Fund to support the restoration and protection of 35 historic projects in 20 municipalities across Morris County (such as the Merci Train Boxcar below). All projects were recommended for funding by the Morris County Historic Preservation Trust Fund Review Board. Morris County has now awarded more than $61 million from the Preservation Trust Fund to restore and preserve 142 historic sites since 2003.

The building brings engineering, development, manufacturing, assembly and test under one roof for the first time, a move Marotta has been working toward for several years. The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) announced that Charles “Chuck” Leitgeb, Deputy Director of State Government Relations at Bayer US, has been elected Chair of the Board. Chuck succeeds Leo Farber, formerly Vice President and Head of U.S. Government Affairs at Novartis. The HINJ Board also elected Adam Brand, Vice President, Government Affairs and Public Policy Corporate Affairs at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc., to serve as Vice Chair. The Treasurer is Christopher Guiton, Head, Home State Initiatives at Johnson & Johnson. The Board Secretary is Derek Naten, Vice President, Government Affairs & Advocacy at Keenova Therapeutics. In addition, HINJ also announced that Adam Taliaferro, Director, State & Community Engagement at Johnson & Johnson, has been reappointed Chair of the HINJ Steering Committee and George Coutros, Director, State Government Relations at Sanofi US, has been reappointed Vice Chair.

Spencer Savings Bank announced that Maria Seretis, Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, has been appointed a member of the Union County Economic Development Corporation Board of Trustees. As a trustee, Maria will serve as a voting member and participate in committees focused on supporting the development and growth of New Jersey small businesses.
Spencer also announced that the bank has awarded nearly $40,000 in scholarships to 26 exceptional high school students in New Jersey. Each student received a $1,500 scholarship for college tuition assistance. Since the commencement of the bank's scholarship program in 2002, Spencer has awarded more than $700,000 to local students.

CP Engineers, in partnership with the Port Royal Municipal Authority, recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Port Royal Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvement Project. The expected improvements will eliminate sanitary sewer overflows into the Juniata River in Pennsylvania, which would end one of the last discharges of untreated sanitary sewage in the state. These important upgrades represent a transformational step forward for the community as they help the environment and quality of life along the river.

Berkeley College announced that NJBIZ has recognized Barbara Crump, PhD, RN, Professor, Nursing, Berkeley College School of Health Studies, among the recipients of the Health Care Heroes awards. The Health Care Heroes awards program was created in an effort to recognize excellence, promote innovation and honor the efforts of individuals and organizations making a significant impact on the quality of healthcare in New Jersey, according to NJBIZ. Crump was recognized in the Education-Individual category for her work as a nursing professor and was one of four educators in New Jersey to earn this achievement.
Berkeley has also welcomed Aaron Potts as Designer-in-Residence. The Berkeley College Designer-in-Residence program, which began in 2022, offers fashion designers the opportunity to collaborate with the next generation of industry professionals. The program reflects the college’s commitment to bridging academia and industry.
In addition, The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts recently announced Berkeley College and iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher according to Podtrac, as being among the honorees of the 2026 Communicator Awards, recognizing excellence, effectiveness and innovation across all areas of communication. The “Teach Me Something” podcast was recognized in the Individual Episodes-Educational category.
