Only state to fly flag of 6 nations – Spain, France, Confederate States, Mexico, US, Alamo was a church and military hospital, Sam Houston sent word to Jim Bowie to destroy the Alamo & stores. But Bowie stood up and defended the site

Travis drew Line in sand with a challenge and each of us are challenged.
Defenders wanted freedom and fought for 13 days. Battle would lead to fight for Freedom in San Jacinto. Battle Cry – Remember the Alamo – Let us not forget that we might repeat. If stand down now, would be harder to stand up latter.
Tyrants should be accountable to we the people. It only takes a few to stand up.
Fight for the freedoms of the next generation. Think about others more than self. The SREC & all Texans must stand up. One voice – Remember the Alamo.

Pride Coalition controversy – Southern region met on issue. Large evangelical population. Goal is to maintain relationships while being true to platform. The issue has upset a lot of folks. Social conservatives & evangelical grass roots need to honor. Toni Ann & Matt on same page on issue. Frank Gorge Evangelical director.
Election Integrity – Melissa Conway hired to deal with issue. Drew, Quinton, Toni Ann & I giving her help. 60% of black voters believe in ID. By 33% margin believe voting is easy. Want to ensure the elections are Fair, Free,
78% voters principle – ID, clean voter roles, ballot harvesting, signature verification
Law suits in Vermont to stop citizen voting.& Arizona
HR1 has failed. With Democrat congress, HR1 is always an election bill. If federalize elections that Dem would always win.
HR4 – Voter rights – would require preclearance again. Need to defeat.

Committee will not be endorsing candidates

No longer say that biggest taxing authority is non partisan
Pilot project, committee ends at term and may be reconstituted as standing committee next term.
Rinaldi – endorse personally in Southlake race, will not involve CRC resources, no budget allocation.
Steve Atwell – speak against – races that are hard to vet., some candidates not well vetted turn out to be not good candidates
Rinaldi – will not get involved in all the races. Will only get involved where there is a bright light. If don’t like, amend scope of committee.
Chris McDonald – move to amend – insert after bullets of 2nd paragraph – upon request of county executive committee., 2nd Mr. Bishop
Rolando Garcia – oppose amendment -Can’t tell county parties what to do.

Rinaldi – amendment – Local Government Committee shall not provide Party resources to influence a local election without the content of the relevant County Party and shall not endorse candidates for office. – 2nd Mr. Bishop – adopted as written
Tanya Robertson – inquiry – do these guidelines have same weight as bylaws and usually send such items to rules committee. – Refer guidelines to Rules committee
Rinaldi – oppose referral since loose election cycle. Special committee not usually set by rules.
Tanya – lots of unknown. Could form unrestrained working group.
Rinaldi – having special committee with bylaws does restrict group.
Rolando Garcia – Officials committee created Vaccine mandate committee, Convention Contingency, etc without the full body. More scrutiny for this committee than any other.
Steve Evans – against referring to rules. Bylaws already don’t allow endorsement without full vote of SREC.
Sean Chebin – Call the question on amendment to refer to rules
Rinaldi – motion to send to rules failed
Rinaldi -time or manpower are resources to be utilized
Gail Stanart – this will develop pool of candidates from non partisan to partisan races
Will recruit qualified candidates by doing what the democrats are already doing.
Steve Evans – full body always has oversight of all committees
Deborah Kelting Fite – This will help elect more republican candidates.
