Earn a Car Wash Pass + Enter for a Drawing for a $50 Gift Card
Some of our best volunteer recruiters are our current and former volunteers so, we
decided to have a little fun between now and the end of September.
- All current and former registered volunteers are eligible to earn a Crew Car Wash pass for every new volunteer they recruit. To earn the pass, the new volunteer needs to attend orientation, complete their training and volunteer for two shifts.
- For every new volunteer you recruit, your name will be entered into the drawing for a $50 VISA gift card.
- If a former registered volunteer decides to return to the House, they would be eligible for the car wash pass and be entered for the drawing for the gift card.
So phone, email, text your friends about the joy and impact our volunteers have on the families we serve. Remember to tell your friends to contact
Mary Friend at

Operational Updates
Your Input is Needed
In a continuing effort to improve efficiency in the Front Office at Limestone, a committee of Guest Service Volunteers is being formed to review processes and implement changes where needed. If you like to organize, have lots of good ideas and can think outside the box, then we need you! Please let
Patti Cooper (
pcooper@rmhccin.org ) know if you'd like to be a part of this committee.
Use of Parking Tag Log Stopped
We are no longer using the Parking Tag Log for the plastic, numbered parking hang tags we give our registered guests. As part of the check-in and check-out process, the assigned parking tag number will only be written on the guest's white registration card.
Our temporary visitors who will only be at the House for the day, will continue to receive a orange temporary parking pass.
If you have any questions, please remember to refer to the Need To Know binder for more details.
Check-in Checklist
Guest Services Volunteers (GSVs) still play a big role in welcoming our new guest families to the House. To make sure everyone has the most updated information, a new check-in checklist has been developed to help guide staff and GSVs through the process. Please remember to refer to the Need to Know binder for the details.
New Bedspreads are Here!
We have searched and searched to find a bedspread that would hold up to frequent washing with bleach. After speaking with representatives from Thirty-One Gifts, a very generous donor to our House, they were able to help and source a bedspread that has been amazing.
Our friends at RMH Columbus have raved that these bedspreads have held up really well and are easily bleached and spot treated. We also haven't run into any issues with threads coming loose or the fabric becoming threadbare. All in all, we feel the bedspreads were a great choice and brighten up our rooms!
Welcome to the Future!
We are fine tuning the written instructions so we can start training Guest Services Volunteers (GSV) on how to operate our new cash register at our Limestone location. We are getting positive comments from staff members who are using the register and want to make sure we have all the glitches worked out before training GSVs.

Volunteers Needed
- We are looking for additional volunteers to help with food inventory and to stock the pantries on a monthly basis. This is a great opportunity to come in an hour before or stay after your Guest Services Volunteer shift and help straighten and stock the food pantries at Limestone. Scheduling is flexible.
- We are looking to grow our team of coffee cart hosts on Thursday mornings from 9-11:30 a.m. You can choose to serve weekly, every other week, or from time to time. Because you will be serving coffee to families on the patient floors, you will need to complete the on-boarding process for Riley Hospital.
Wonder what it is like to volunteer on the coffee cart? Hear from current coffee cart hosts.
Everyone is so grateful and appreciative. It's not often that you can improve someone's day with such a simple gesture. ~ Marie Shea
I enjoy working on the coffee cart because you get to interact with families, the doctors and nurses. You also get to see what goes on in the hospital. The families really appreciate the coffee, tea and hot chocolate. ~ Joe Gault
The parents are ALWAYS most appreciative of our offerings. They don't like leaving their sick kiddos and don't want to miss the doctors. I enjoy walking around the hospital. It gives me a better appreciation of what I have and how lucky I am with my own children and grandchildren. I really enjoy the happy and sweet faces of the kids. They always bring a smile to my face. ~ Nancy Iles
- We need additional volunteers at our Riley location mainly during the lunch hour (12-3 p.m.). You will be assisting with the check-in process, setting up lunch and light clean up. Meals are already prepared, no cooking necessary.
For more information about these opportunities or if you know someone who would like to join us, contact
Mary Friend at
mfriend@rmhccin.org or (317) 267-0605, ext. 225.
- GOOOOOOAL! We have been invited to participate in an exciting 3V3 Soccer Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, July 28 in McCordsville, IN. We need volunteers to assist with concessions and side games that will help us raise additional funds. The event will be all day (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) but shifts are available. Additional information about the event can be found by clicking in the following link 3v3 Soccer Tournament or email Manpreet Dhillon, Marketing & Development Associate, at mdhillon@rmhccin.org for more information or to sign-up to volunteer.

Look Who Was Caught Rolling Out The Red Carpet
Bert Harvey, Guest Services Assistant, caught Bob Schofield, Guest Services Volunteer at Riley, demonstrating cooperation, communication and teamwork.
Bert wrote: "Bob has been volunteering at the House for almost 27 years, is always punctual, dependable and rarely misses a shift. He always knows what needs to be done and eagerly takes on special projects like picking up supplies at Limestone. At times I will ask him to please check on the laundry and most likely he has already taken care of it. Bob is always welcoming to whoever walks through the doors of the RMH at Riley. This includes volunteers, staff, houseguests and other visitors. I am always glad to learn that I am working with Bob."
Thank you, Bob. We appreciate your friendliness and compassion!
Congratulations! Your Crew Carwash pass is in the mail.
Remember, if you catch a volunteer rolling out the red carpet and providing an excellent family experience, please submit a nomination using the form below. Printed copies of this form are also available in the front office at both Limestone and Riley. Each month, all nominations are eligible for a random drawing for a Crew Carwash pass.

MISSION MOMENT
|
Being able to have meals and a bed close to our little one when he needs us most has been the only true blessing in our families' life as of late and we owe it all to you. Thank you greatly for your affiliation and contributions to the RMH of Indianapolis. Without donations / donors our family wouldn't have comfort when and where we need it.
Much Love,
The Stickels Family
