This week at CHoP, we're proud to partner with the 11th Street Bridge Park to present the "Bridge Spot," a mobile, small business kiosk. The pop-up storefront provides a rent-free, traveling retail space for entrepreneurs from Wards 7 and 8 to test products, build their brands, and reach new customers across Washington, D.C. Vendors are selected for one-month residencies, during which they receive pro-bono technical and marketing assistance from corporate partners like Capital One and Accenture.

Shop Local at CHoP

Shop The K Collective, a local, woman-owned business offering elevated jewelry, stylish clothing, and other unique finds. Stop by the "Bridge Spot" to explore their collection, discover something new, and support a small business right here in our community.

A Custard Classic: Banana Pudding

A classic favorite with a fresh twist, banana pudding combines ripe bananas, creamy custard, and soft wafers for a satisfying dessert with layers of flavor and texture. Naturally sweet bananas provide potassium and other essential nutrients, while their fresh flavor complements the rich, creamy elements of this nostalgic treat.

While banana pudding is best enjoyed as an occasional indulgence, incorporating fresh fruit into desserts can add flavor and nutritional value without relying solely on added sweetness. It’s a delicious reminder that fresh ingredients can make even familiar comfort foods feel a little more special.

Satisfy your sweet tooth on Wilson Plaza, where fresh flavors and local favorites are waiting at CHoP. This week, we’re spotlighting Sugar Plug, a featured vendor bringing delicious treats like cookies, cakes, and their fan-favorite banana pudding, plus a little extra sweetness to your market experience.
