A BIG Thank You!
Thank you to Lehigh Valley Hospital Network and the Dorothy Rider Pool Health Care Trust! Last month the Allentown Rescue Mission applied for a grant; we were one of several community service agencies that received funds to purchase COVID-19 preparedness/response supplies. Through this grant, we were able to order PPE, cleaning supplies, paper towels, soap, disinfectants, trash bags, and more.

The Allentown Rescue Mission believes in supporting local businesses. One hundred percent of the grant money awarded was used to shop at the local branch of “The Restaurant Store – Lehigh Valley,” located on Schoenersville Road. A special thank you to Vicki, who worked with us to load pallets into our truck!
Your Donations at Work
Thank you Brown & Brown Insurance and Donegal Insurance for your donation!

They recently gave a gift of $750 for COVID-19 relief to the Allentown Rescue Mission. As many of you know, the Allentown Rescue Mission has remained open, and has continued accepting men during the pandemic. We have been able to do so because of our partners. Thank you Brown & Brown Insurance and Donegal Insurance for your generosity.

What We Need Most
I am Dan, and I am a volunteer with the Allentown Rescue Mission, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am unable to be at the Mission to help. However, there are other ways to help the Mission, including shopping online using AmazonSmile. It costs you nothing, and if you're like me, you are shopping online for most of what you need. I recently received a letter informing me that my quarterly AmazonSmile donation to the Allentown Rescue Mission was $264.42, and all I had to do was shop online at Amazon.com.

If you are interested in supporting the Allentown Rescue Mission through your Amazon shopping, just go to AmazonSmile, sign in, and designate the Allentown Rescue Mission as your charity. Amazon will then contribute a small portion of the value of your purchases to the Mission. It's that easy.
Lives Changed
Help our Clean Team offset tool cost by donating today!!!

Have you ever driven through downtown Allentown and seen the “men in blue” picking up litter? Every year, employees of the Clean Team hand pick over 100,000 lbs. of trash and recycling from City streets. We have tried every trash picker tool on the market from $2.00 to $30.00 and found that the Harbor Freight 36” pickup and reach tool has the best “return on investment.”

If you would like to support our working men by donating a pick and reach tool, please visit your local Harbor Freight store to purchase it. Don’t want to go out? Visit the Clean Team’s website and donate online now:  www.cleanteampa.com

Thank you in advance for your support!

Employee Spotlight
If you have ever donated food to the Allentown Rescue Mission you may have bumped into Terry. But did you know that Terry has been working at the Mission and helping to change lives for over six years? Terry says he works at the Allentown Rescue Mission so he can help men in need make positive life changes and become successful.

Terry does a lot for the men. Not only does he provide three meals a day to the men, but he also helps them with their development. “I teach a ServSafe® class to help the men with their kitchen skills. These are marketable skills that could be useful for the mens’ employment prospects.”

He says the most rewarding part of his job is when he sees the men get situated back into the community. “Seeing the men get back to normal life is fantastic. They leave with Christ in their hearts and smiles on their faces.”

Thank you, Terry, for all of your hard work. You keep the men nourished, and you fill their hearts with love and hope.
