Pentecost
The Day of Pentecost - Sunday, May 20
Pentecost comes around every year. Is there anything new we can discover in it? At Pentecost there is no going back to old ways. Astronauts who have viewed the earth from orbit speak of a new perspective about the beauty and fragility of the earth. So it is with Pentecost. We are no longer captive to the old myths of ego and power, and the breath of new life forever changes our perspective on history and our stories. Indeed, at Pentecost there is no going back to old ways. The Day of Pentecost: A mighty wind blew through a house on a back street in Jerusalem and gave Jesus' disciples everything they needed to turn the world upside down. See you Pentecost Sunday!

Memorial Day Honors
Sunday, May 27th
Memorial Day is a federal holiday observed every year on the last Monday in May. It honors those men and women who died serving in the United States military. It is our custom here at St. Luke's to honor and remember all of our deceased veterans on the eve of Memorial Day.

O Gracious God, we pray to you for those we love, but see no longer -  especially the men and women who served faithfully in the United States military. Grant them your peace; let light perpetual shine upon them; and, in your loving wisdom and almighty power, work in them the good purpose of your perfect will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
