"All glory, laud and honor to thee, Redeemer King"
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We pray that this Lent has been a meaningful time for you of self-searching, self-denial and self-dedication. We invite you now to share our liturgical observances of Palm Sunday and Holy Week, recalling the final earthly days of our Lord Jesus.

I want especially to encourage you to enter fully into these services. They are important spiritually on their own, and, even more so, as preparation for sharing the joys of Easter - the Resurrection of our Lord and the promise and gift of our salvation and renewal.

Your history here at St. Luke's tells a troubling story of general disinterest in the services of Holy Week, especially Good Friday. "Now is the acceptable time" to "repent and return to the Lord." I beg you to do this, for your soul's sake.

Our schedule of Palm Sunday and Holy Week and Easter services follows:
Palm Sunday , April 14, Holy Eucharist 7:30 am and 10am
Holy Eucharist and Healing Service, Wednesday, April 17, 12 Noon, Lunch immediately following
Maundy Thursday , April 18, 6pm
Good Friday , April 19, 12 Noon. Followed by Stations of the Cross for those that wish to remain.
Easter Sunday , April 21, Holy Eucharist 7:30 am and 10am, Easter Breakfast 8:30 am, Easter Egg Hunt 9:15am

We will do everything possible to make all of these as lovely, moving and meaningful as possible. Your role is to come and participate. For a double blessing, invite someone to share the experience with you.

Your Lay Leadership and I pray that this Easter you will be richly blessed with all the joys of our risen Lord.

Discernment Committee Update
The search continues!
The committee has interviewed 3 candidates by Skype (a video interview), and 2 of them appear to be excellent choices. We have interviewed one face to face, and we will have interviewed the second one by the time you are reading this. The third one has taken a position with another church. Both of these priests will be able to move very soon, and once we issue the call to one of them, and the Vestry approves them, the process of relocating the priest and the family to Mobile to serve St. Luke’s will begin. Of course, a thorough background check through the Diocese will be conducted and is expected to take about 30 days once it commences. Upon a favorable report, then our chosen priest can begin the relocation.
Your committee has been very diligent in its search for a suitable priest, and they are to be commended for their efforts. We hope we have news in the very near future about a selection!
