Sumner Hill math instructor Dr. Kelly Keith was recently named the Clinton Public School District's 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Keith will represent CPSD in the Mississippi Teacher of the Year program this spring hosted by the Mississippi Department of Education.

A Semester's Worth of 'Teacher Targets' | | |
The Clinton Public School District truly has some of the best teachers in the world, and our children are impacted by them on a daily basis. We can easily believe the hard work, the struggles, the triumphs, the tears, the hard times and the good times are par for the course, but that's beyond selling this place short.
It would be easy to take this place for granted, but that just doesn't seem like the Clinton Arrow way.
As we close this fall semester of the 2025-2026 school year, take the time to thank one (or more) of these educators. Their investment into our children will produce the dividends of tomorrow.

There's a special kind of pride that comes from teaching in the school district you attended and graduated from. Clinton Public School District is just that for me.
Teaching is a passion I have always had, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. My grandfather was an administrator, educator, and coach for many years in JPS, and my mother is a teacher. I am grateful to be following in their footsteps of service and showing up for others—lessons we carry into our classrooms daily.

Training for more than just sports with Coach Andrew Rafferty
Clinton Athletic's Strength and Conditioning Coach Andrew Rafferty has put the science of training into place with Arrow athletes to instill proper form in order to produce quality athletes.
His mission, however, is not only to produce healthy athletes but to prepare Clinton's students for life beyond sports.

The Clinton Public School District's Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, in the Central Office Boardroom.
The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
These meetings are open to the public.

The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team used standout performances from two senior players on Tuesday night.
Aria Jones scored 19 points, Grace Eatmon added 16 points, and the Lady Arrows bounced the Jim Hill Lady Tigers, 66-35, in a non-district game at Arrow Gym.
Clinton carried a slim, two-point edge after the opening quarter, but the Lady Arrows seized control in the second period, using a relentless full-court press and steady scoring to build a double-digit cushion by halftime. Clinton maintained that margin for the remainder of the contest.
The Lady Arrows return to action at the Bulldog Holiday Bash at Terry High School on Monday and Tuesday, December 22–23. Clinton will face Vicksburg at 12 p.m. on Monday before squaring off against Pearl at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Arrows fall to Jim Hill 52-44
The Clinton High School Men's Basketball team gave a gritty effort but fell to the Jim Hill Tigers, 52-44, on Tuesday night at Arrow Gym.
Clinton pushed the pace behind Javarius Tyler, who finished with a team-high 18 -points. London Mckenzie added 10 points, six of which came in the second half, while Logan Garner chipped in six points after halftime.
Jim Hill (8-4) capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 18 of 22 attempts, using Clinton fouls to gradually stretch its advantage during the contest.
Clinton returns to action the Bulldog Holiday Bash on Tuesday, December 23, at Terry High School, when the Arrows take on the Vicksburg Gators at 1:30 p.m.

CPSD to begin using OpenGate Weapon Detection System
The Clinton Public School District is set to begin using the OpenGate Weapon Detection System at Clinton Athletic events.
The OpenGate system uses advanced sensor technology to detect weapons quickly and discreetly without the invasiveness of traditional metal detectors.
The OpenGate system is used at athletic events, arenas, performances spaces and other large venues across the state and the nation and provides an additional layer of security at events held on Clinton campuses.

The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team added another dramatic chapter to its long-running rivalry with the Madison Central Lady Jaguars on Thursday night at Arrow Field.
Junior goalkeeper Ellyn Burchfield delivered a memorable performance, saving two penalty kicks and converting the game-winning kick from the penalty spot, helping the Lady Arrows edge Madison Central, 7-6, in nine rounds of penalty kicks during a Region 2-7A match. The match ended tied, 1-1, following regulation and two overtime periods, requiring the deciding penalty kicks.
With the victory, Clinton improved to 2-1 in Region 2-7A play and 6-2-1 overall.
The Lady Arrows return to MHSAA Region 2-7A action on Tuesday, traveling to Starkville for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff against the Starkville Lady Jackets at Yellowjacket Stadium.

Lady Kingpins roll to 8-0, Kingpins defeat North Pike
The Clinton High School Bowling teams continued their winning ways with victories over North Pike High School on Thursday, December 11, at Indian Lanes.
The Lady Kingpins improved their record to a perfect 8-0, while the Kingpins moved their overall record to 7-1 this season.
The Clinton bowling teams will enjoy their Winter Break and return to action on Wednesday, January 7, against the Brandon High Bowling teams at Indian Lanes. The matches start at 3:45 p.m.

Arrow Track & Field enjoys success at Holiday Invitational
The Clinton High School Track and Field teams continued their indoor season on Saturday, December 13, competing in the Holiday Invitational #2 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Clinton returns to action on January 23-24 in Birmingham, competing in Hoover High School's Last Chance Meet at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
