| | CHS Life Skills seniors honored with banner reveal | | |
The Clinton High School Life Skill Class of 2026 seniors were celebrated Thursday, February 12, with a special senior banner reveal ceremony at Arrow Baseball Field, recognizing their impact on the school community.
The banners, which will be displayed throughout the 2026 season along the third-base line of the grandstand, were made possible through the generosity of Clinton State Farm agent Tim Bruss, Alvin Coleman of Cole Photography, and the leadership of Arrow Head Baseball Coach Sam Temple.
Temple, who works closely with the Life Skills students as their Physical Education coach, shared what the group has meant to him personally.
"They're a blessing to me," Temple said. "I get to work with them in the mornings with the physical education, and they really meant a lot to me and touched my life. For the students here, they're just such a big part of our school … to recognize them for the things they've done, and the lives they've also touched here. They get a sports banner, just like everybody else."

The Clinton Public School District has four students who have recently had a Wish granted or hope to have granted soon.
The CHS Anchor Club is selling t-shirts to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Mississippi.

| | Attache' adds two Grand Champion titles | | |
Clinton High School's Attache' Show Choir claimed two additional Grand Championship titles in the last two weeks.
At the Homewood South Central Classic in Homewood, AL, Attache' won Grand Champion, Best Vocals and Best Choreography.
At the Jackson Prep Show Choir Masters in Flowood, MS, Attache' won Grand Champion, Outstanding Vocals, Outstanding Show Design, Outstanding Visuals, Best Ballad and Best Costumes.
Alana Turner and Jaden Kazery won Clinton's Outstanding Performers. Alana Turner also won a $500 scholarship for Overall Outstanding Performer.
Attache' Show Choir's next competition is on March 7 at Glenwood High School's "The Event" in Chatham, IL
| | Ambassadors named Grand Champions | | |
Clinton Jr. High School's Ambassadors Show Choir was named Middle School Overall Grand Champions at the Jackson Prep Show Choir Masters in Flowood, MS.
The Ambassadors also were awarded Division AAAA Grand Champion, Best Vocals, Best Visuals, Best Show Design and Best Ballad. Kennedy Grider and Zion Johnson were named Best Performers.
Luke May placed 1st in the Solo Competition with Elliott Busby placing 3rd.

The Big Easy bake at Sumner Hill
In celebration of Mardi Gras, students in the Life Skills program at Sumner Hill Jr. High School learned how to make beignets, a delicious fried pastry that is popular in New Orleans.

Scholarships for students with intellectual disabilities
Scholarships are one resource that can help students pay for college. Students with intellectual disability (ID) can access a range of scholarships. There are numerous scholarships available, but sometimes it can be hard to find the ones that apply to your situation.
If you search for disability-specific scholarships, you will find a long list of national scholarships. To save you some time, we compiled a list of disability-specific scholarships for which students with intellectual disability are eligible to apply.

Students in Clinton High School's Work Based Learning had the chance to sit down with Mississippi's Secretary of State Michael Watson to talk about planning for their futures and possible steps to accomplish those goals.

Child Find is a service required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It helps identify, locate, and evaluate children from birth through age 21 who may need early intervention or special education services. Early identification helps children get the support they need to succeed.

| | Ferrell earns spot in state powerlifting meet | | |
The Clinton High School Boys' Powerlifting team competed at the MHSAA Class 7A North State Championship on Saturday, February 21, at Lewisburg High School.
Senior Davieon Ferrell earned a third-place finish in the 165-pound weight class, posting a total of 1,115 pounds across his lifts. With the strong showing, Ferrell punched his ticket to the MHSAA Class 7A State Championship, which will be held on March 28 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

Baseball gets it done on the diamond
The Clinton High School Baseball team rolled in three victories over the weekend and the first part of this week walking off Petal 6-5 on Friday, February 20 followed by a big 7-4 win over Lewisburg the next day.
On Tuesday, February 24, Clinton dominated Pearl, shutting the Pirates out 7-0.
The win stretched the Arrows' overall record to 4-1, and it was Clinton's third straight win.
The Arrows are scheduled to host Ridgeland at 7:00pm on Friday at Arrow Field.

Softball impresses in win over Wesson
The Clinton High School Softball team easily defeated the Wesson Cobras, 24-6, Tuesday night at Wesson High School.
The Lady Arrows have won six of their first eight games of the young season.
After setting the tone early, the Lady Arrows never looked back in the road victory.
The Lady Arrows return to Clinton High School on Saturday, hosting the Northwest Rankin Lady Cougars at 6 p.m.

Arrow Track rolls at season opener
The Clinton High School Track and Field teams opened the 2026 outdoor season in impressive fashion Friday at the Clinton Season Opener, turning in multiple first-place finishes and dominant performances to begin the campaign on a high note.
The Lady Arrows enter the season as 12-time defending state champions, and the Arrows are coming off a Class 7A runner-up finish last season.

Clinton Cheer announces tryouts
The Clinton Cheer program announced its official tryout schedule and important deadlines for students interested in joining the 2026-2027 cheer squads on Monday, January 12.
Tryout packets will be available beginning February 2 and can be picked up at each student's school front office (Lovett, CJHS, Sumner Hill, CHS). Completed tryout forms must be turned in to the front office no later than 4 p.m. on February 20.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
